We just spent one night. Had room 307 on 3rd floor with western view over the city. Friends recommended it from their visit in October. We liked the hotel. There was a minor issue with our reservation through Orbitz via TripAdvisor, but the desk clerk gave the discount and booked the room for us anyway. Staff was very friendly and...

We will be going back many times again! The location can't be any better. The rooms were well decorated, clean and it was a plus to have a sink and vanity in the room. The shared bathrooms are individual so you still have a level of privacy. We loved this hotel!

Wife and I did a four-day trip up and down the 101 in August. This was our last night before heading home. Quiet, comfortable, clean little hotel with great decor and furnishings (was completely renovated the previous year). Close to good food/drink and wasn't difficult to find parking. Great little coffee/café next door. Would stay here again

We were on a brief vacation from the Midwest, exploring the Washgon/ Oregon Coast. We have visited Astoria before but stayed in a cookie cutter type chain hotel. The Commodore popped up when I checked Yelp😳 As reasonably priced with great reviews. We wanted to give it a try. We were immediately impressed by the friendliness of the checking staff....

They have done a clever job of remodeling and restoring at the Commodore. It's very inviting from the very beginning with the mellow lobby with its vinyl music, fireplace and comfy seating. The rooms are super clean as are the bath/shower facilities. The service is very nice as the people at the desk know a lot about Astoria and what...

A welcome break from chain hotels. Excellent location, great ambiance, superb staff, fun place. The bedding is wonderful and would stay here again. On a driving trip through Oregon, The Commodore was definitely a highlight.

Location! Wonderul bedding and so clean! I booked a room with a shared bath. The room has bath robes in it so you don't have to find clothes to go to the loo. The guy at the front desk on the morning of Friday the 14th was awesome! Sorry I didn't get his name. I will stay here again!

Stayed 3 nights in the refurbished hotel. Good downtown location to do River Walk and walk to many excellent restaurants. Views of main downtown streets but that's fine based on the price. The front staff is excellent with all sorts of knowledge on restaurants, maps, and fun site seeing spots. The restaurant connected to the hotel is excellent with a...

The Commodore Hotel is a stylish place, yet cozy and friendly. Staff was very welcoming and offered us a 20$ upgrade as rooms with private bathrooms were available. Still we rejected the offer. The room was very cozy and clean. It was small, so if you need more space you might ask for a bigger one or consider another place...

Commodore is a newer hotel situated in an older building right in the heart of Astoria. Our corner room had a lovely river view. The furniture is modern and minimal, which is lovely juxtaposed with the older building. Since it's in an older building on the corner of busy streets, this hotel is on the loud side (trucks, voices, etc.)....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the heart of the Astoria Downtown Historic District, the Commodore Hotel occupies the 1925 Lewis Building, designed by John E. Wicks, Astoria's most influential architect. The hotel operated from 1925 until 1968, first as the Barton Inn Hotel and then as the Commodore. Shuttered for 40 years, the Commodore reopened in 2009 after an extraordinary renovation. Retaining the original doors, windows, woodwork, and fixtures-all meticulously rehabilitated-the Commodore is now a shining example of the highest standards of contemporary design and construction. The Commodore shares the historic Lewis Building with the legendary Street 14 Coffee, which you can enter directly from the lobby. Downtown Astoria is overflowing with sensory delights-dining, shopping, hiking and more are at your fingertips. Take a romantic stroll along the scenic Riverwalk. Take a ride on the Riverfront Trolley. Take a swim at the Aquatic Center. As our guest, you have access to a curated selection of films available on DVD from the front desk. Watch Goonies in the town where it was filmed. Spend a blustery night curled up with Chinatown or Magnolia. Put together a personal film festival by choosing from over 100 available titles ranging from 3 Days of the Condor to The X-Files. The Commodore understands the importance of sustainable and Earth-friendly business practices. We recycle-and we encourage our guests to do the same-and the hotel is kept sparkling with eco-safe cleaning products. Our commitment to sustainability is recognized by the Travel Oregon Forever Network. Free parking is readily available within a few blocks. Short-term street parking in front of the hotel is usually an option for check-in. The front desk can guide you to long-term parking near the hotel. ... more   less
