This hotel is clean and friendly, but they neglected to tell us they allow dogs. We love animals too, but not when there is a big dog barking incessantly in the room next to us at 9:30 at night, while it’s owner is out on the town. The manager just said, “we’ll try to reach the owner”. This is not pleasant when you’ve been up since 3am traveling, and are bone tired. No apology, no offer to change rooms, no discount for a return visit. We won’t be staying there again, when they have equally nice hotels “next door” within walking distance. Since our kids live there we’ll be back to visit—just not at this hotel. 👎🏻
First of all, we picked this hotel over another hotel because you have guest laundry listed as an amenity and the other hotel didn’t. We asked about it upon check in and the front desk lady told us where it was located. She also told us that if we wanted to use the pool that we had to check in with her to get let in because they are only letting one family at a time in the pool because of covid. So we get settled in and went to the laundry room which had a big “out of order” sign on the door!! Needless to say we were not very happy. We went to the front desk and told the girl about the sign and her only response was to say “ooooooo”. No apology or calling maintenance or anything. So we ended up doing laundry at a gas station of all places. The next morning we woke up to no electricity. Not anyone’s fault I know, but why in the world did the front desk give us frozen breakfast burritos to eat??? Then she told me husband that he could make coffee in the room because they don’t provide coffee here. Ok, I wonder how we are supposed to do either of those things with no electricity. 🤦♀️ When we pointed out the fact we can’t cook anything she was just like “idk”. Really dumb answer and she should have come up with a better idea that giving out half thawed food. So we go about our day and come back to find we have electricity but the cable, internet and phone system is out. Honestly we didn’t even try to tell the front desk because they have already proved to be incompetent. So we decide to try out the pool since there is nothing to do in the room. We get signed in and then discover the pool isn’t heated and the hot tub is barely lukewarm. There are no jets circulating so I’m sure something needs to be reset but again, why bother with the front desk as she has not been able to fix a single issue since we arrived. To add to the fun she lets 2 other families join us. 😑 I can say that the property is clean and being able to hear the sea lions was kinda neat but I will most definitely NOT be staying at another Comfort property again!…
My boyfriend surprised me with a staycation to get away from Portland a few nights. The hotel was on the river and we had the best time. The riverwalk behind the hotel was ideal for walking our pup and taking in the scenery. The staff was welcoming and were wearing masks. They had plenty or recommendations for food and activities. we will definitely be making this our home away from home. The sealions behind the hotel are hilarious and didn't bother us.
Dayann helped me with a challenge I had from a newer employee with my debit card when booking in. The matte was resolved quickly! And the pool hot tub and quality of hotel was really awesome. My kids loved it!!
The basics: Modern construction, three floors, interior access. There is a pool and a dining room, but both are closed due to COVID restrictions. Rooms face either the river or the parking lot. Location: East end of town adjacent to Safeway. The walking path runs right behind the hotel and the Trolley has a stop behind the hotel (this is seasonal and not in operation at the time of our visit). Check-in: Courteous and efficient. Rooms. We had a King Suite facing the river. It was clean and well maintained with the exception of a window that did not lock. There was a small sofa, likely a sleeper with two upholstered ottomans. There was a desk with chair and lamp, small dresser, bed stands with lamps and another lamp by the sofa. Amenities included a large flat screen TV with multiple channels, free wi-fi, refrigerator, digital microwave, coffee maker, ice bucket, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The bed was comfortable with good linens. There was a digital alarm clock. The bathroom is small containing the tub / shower and a comfort height commode (thank you!). The lavatory is adjacent to the closet and included a spacious counter. Soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion was adequate and supplies included a package of makeup remover. Towels were very soft and comfortable. The AC unit was quite and adjusted easily to temperature changes. Black-out curtains were very good. Ambiance: Previous reviews complained about the sea lions making noise. To be honest, this is extremely picky. You are on the waterfront! My hearing aids almost allow me to hear my toenails growing and while I could faintly hear the sea lions at time, it was not at all objectional. I'm sure it may be worse in warmer weather or during salmon runs, but again, you are on the waterfront, so don't complain! Breakfast: Due to COVID restrictions, the traditional breakfast is not available. The hotel has adjusted and gives each guest a bag breakfast on request. On two of three days, ours consisted of a microwavable breakfast sandwich, an apple (or apple slices), a muffin, string cheese and a small cup of orange juice. This was perfectly suitable to get us to lunch or, in the case of our last morning, down the road a ways before stopping for lunch. While COVID has caused a number of inconvenient changes, this hotel has adjusted well. We will return.…
