I have been staying at the Quality Inn at Hyde Park for years and it has always been a nice place to stay. Under the COVID rules things have changed a bit. My room had to be ventilated when I arrived and the windows were opened with a air purifier in the room. That made me feel safer that the room was well aired out. The room was a clean a whistle and well stocked with things that I needed. The bed as usual was nice and soft but firm and slept soundly though the night. Even though the hotel was pretty full (too full to me under New York State standards), the hotel was really quiet and I slept really well and got a good nights rest. The only bad thing was the breakfast was not included. They could have had a Grab and Go breakfast like the other hotels do where you could eat it in your room or on the road but that was not available. Still the stay was really good and I will be back in the future.…
We arrived at night, so it seemed a little sketchy, but the rooms were very clean (although a little small), it was comfortable for the price. When we saw the surroundings the next morning, we were pleasantly surprised to see we are literally across the street from the FDR Library/Home and only a 5 minute drive to Vanderbilt Mansion. The town is so cute and the EveryReady Diner is just two doors down. My only complaint is the breakfast wasn't the greatest - very small area to eat and the hot food, was not hot. But, it had everything we needed and for a value hotel it was sufficient. I would highly recommend the Hyde Park area for a visit.
We stayed here during a research trip to the FDR library. It was very clean, and the staff was very helpful. There are no frills - but it was comfortable, quiet and safe. We were on the 2nd floor, and had no issue getting luggage upstairs.
There are not many choices in Hyde Park for motels. This one is in a convenient location to FDR’s home and library and the Vanderbilt mansion, but it feels old and tired. Low quality toilet paper and towels, carpets that make me want to always have my shoes on- not dirty, just that cheap feel. The bed is nice with modern coverlet and nice sheets. Beware- it is two floors with NO elevator and narrow, steep stairs.
No elevators!! our room was on the second floor, thought I was going to have a heart attack carrying 2 suitcases up to our room. I was told it would be easier to use the rear entrance. We arrived during a thunderstorm, gutters over the entrance doors were clogged with leaves. I needed to walk through a waterfall to get into the entrance.
