This place is ancient. Bed sheets are clean , and that's about it. Furniture n carpet are stained . Staff are really nice and the location rocks . Free water bottles. Don't stay here if you don't do stairs well. Not worth $160/ night though!

You have to be up for an adventure and preferably traveling solo to stay in this hotel. It is very old, no elevator with 4 flights of steps with a landing in between each flight. The managers are very nice and one took my heavy 35 lb. suitcase to the fourth floor. He also gave me free juice or soda...

I personally loved this hotel. With the fact that the after hours check-in was from a bartender and that John (the manager) was nothing but nice. It was old, yes. But that is where some of the charm came from. It was right in Old City blocks away from Penn's Landing, the Constitution Centre, the Liberty Bell and Ben Franklin's...

I do have to say that the owner was very accomidating to the changes I needed make with my reservation prior to my arrival. However, I was disappointed to see that prior reviews were correct. I could not stay the 2 nights I had paid for. I left after 1 night because of the condition of the hotel overall and...

This hotel is an a great location. It is old and appears to be sort of falling apart. The TV did not work very well. It is extremely small, barely much room outside the bed to move around too much, I would not recommend this hotel for a family, but I was travelling solo and just needed a place to...

It's cheap and in a fantastic location, the bar is good price, the ac in the room blows cold what more could you ask for. It's centrally located for what I needed half way between the stadiums and the city. Super friendly staff and a fun place to stay.

Before I expand on the title, let me just say the positive: the staff were great! We arrived sometime in the evening which was to be our last night stay in the US before heading back to the UK, and the gentleman greeted us was extremely helpful. We dumped our bags in our place, and then went out exploring the...

My family and I stayed in the "condo", two blocks away from the main hotel. The place was so dirty there was dust, hair and grime on EVERYTHING! The kitchen and coffee maker were caked with crap, the shower plugged so no one could use it (who knows what was plugging it) and my daughter found chewed up gum on...

I can confirm what so many reviewers have written before. The place is a total dump. There is mold everywhere in the shower. The sink was leaking on the floor. The carpet was encrusted and filthy. It looked like it was there when Ben Franklin roamed the streets. The bed is way too small for two healthy, slim people and...

When we checked in, we were told Society Hill is the oldest hotel in Philadelphia, built while Ben Franklin was still alive. I don't think any maintenance has been done since then. The shower alternated from freezing to scalding. It couldn't be turned off, and dripped all night. There was mildew and peeling, cracked caulking in the shower. When any...
