This was our first stay at Le Meridien. We like to peruse the "upscale" hotel offerings when we visit Philadelphia for just a night or two and decided to try LM. The location is, of course, wonderful. The bed very comfortable, and inexpensive parking is not too far away. The room had lots of sanitization stickers and seals which was comforting, but no coffee maker, which was surprising. Furthermore, we had some issues with the service. When i called the hotel to advise we'd be checking in a bit late in the evening, I was advised "King rooms are going fast so we cannot promise you one" (despite that we prepaid for it) and their excuse was "we cannot control the booking sites." Well, that led me to drop everything, leave the family at a gathering, and go check in. Next hiccup. The line for the front desk was long. That's because they guy in front of me wanted to buy a bottle of wine, but wasn't sure which one and could they recommend one. And the guy in front of him apparently wanted an extra glass for his room. And the guy in front of him wanted a cup of coffee!!! (because there are no coffee makers in the rooms) So, those of us waiting to check in had to, well, wait. Last hiccup might have been the most indigestible: the "foyer" area between the lobby and entry is a small, warm space of about 25 square feet. Everyone has to go through it to get in and out of the hotel. While we were there, it was usually holding 4 or 5 valet parking staff keeping an eye out for arriving guests and keeping warm. Wearing masks, yes, but still in a small space, exhaling air (let's hope) through which everyone MUST pass to enter/exit the hotel. And none of these people looked old enough to have been vaccinated yet. One of the front desk managers even joined in on the "get together" while we were checking out. We were pretty outraged at this ignorance to the situation (Pandemic? Hello?) but the last thing we wanted to do was go back inside to point this out. Good-bye Le Meridien. Lovely hotel. Sub-par service. Inconsistent pandemic accommodations.…
Stayed one night. Very comfortable modern rooms in a great location. Staff was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel. Easy walk to Redding Terminal and restaurants. Check in was easy and the hotel has a mobile key option. Restaurant was closed due to pandemic.
Le Meridien is one of my favorite hotels. I enjoyed, very much, the warm welcome I received and the enhanced infection prevention controls that the staff implemented. The room was comfortable and I spent a nice 3 days with them.
Quick overnight trip to Philly. Hotel location is super convenient to anything in Center City, and sits adjacent to City Hall. Valet parking is a huge help and took the worries out of leaving my car overnight. Staff were super helpful and everything about the hotel is COVID-compliant. Hotel eatery is closed due to COVID, but there are so many places close that this was not an issue. Can't go wrong staying here!
Although I booked with a third party and theirs was a headache with my room initially due to no fault of the hotel. The management staff were extremely accommodating they resolved my issue and treated me with the upmost respect . I would be delighted to stay at your hotel once again
