We came to the Alexander to escape the powerless NJ Shore during Hurricane Sandy. They had a room available on 11/1 so we took it and drove in for the night. They couldn't have been nicer on the phone, and suggested which room would be...More
Philadelphia is a walker's city and this spot 's proximity to all things downtown is pretty good! It has the ambiance of an old hotel but with all the modern conveniences. If you are looking for flashy, homogenized lodging, don't come to this Inn. If...More

This is no big hotel with fancy settings but the hotel was like home from home. The price when booked early was much lower than other hotels in the area. The location was fantastic, the rooms a very good size and the breakfast, although limited, was sufficient and fresh. Staff were also helpful. The hotel doesn't have to be 4* with all the amenities that comes with that to be rated highly by it's customers.
