I stayed at the Alexander Inn from July 6-July 9 with my teenage son whom I was dropping off at a summer program. We had a comfortable stay during a heat wave. Though the room only had a window air conditioning unit, we kept the room at a nice temperature. However, the bathroom was quite warm as it faced the...

I stayed at Alexander Inn with my two daughters and could not have been more pleased. First off, a few people have written about the service - we arrived late and had a wonderful and helpful and friendly check in. I asked many questions throughout my 2 day visit and always the gentlemen at the front desk were so helpful....

First, this is not a 5-star hotel. It is a very nice, basic, boutique-style place. It does, though, rate five stars for what it is. Great center city location, about six blocks from the Convention Center. A basic continental breakfast is included. Friendly staff during the day . . . not quite as good at midnight when I arrived, but...

I truly enjoyed my stay here. The staff is so helpful and polite. The only thing I didn't like was the small rooms. But for the price, it is reasonable. Everything is bigger in Texas. Anyway I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It is also very close to lots of shopping streets.

Alexander Inn makes a great Philly homebase and it hits a homerun! We walked to dinner at Paolos for Cheese Steak sandwiches and had dessert at More than Just Ice Cream. It's located in a lovely walkable neighborhood. From Alexander Inn we walked to all the free museums with storytellers, lunch at Reading Terminal Market, and dinner at City Tavern....

My husband and I stayed at the Alexander Inn for three days in June during the second leg of our vacation which began in the Poconos and attending a NASCAR race. We hadn’t been to Philadelphia before and wanted to be near all the typical tourist sites we planned to visit and the location was perfect walking distance. Upon arrival...

We had the opportunity to stay at the Alexander Inn in Philly, two weeks ago. The manager of the hotel, John, makes sure that everyone is happy by personally greeting everyone at breakfast. One feels like we were staying at a B and B with the niceness of a hotel. Christopher at the front desk is helpful as well. They...

Spruce St is lined with neat Georgian buildings similar to the ones you find in parts of London and of course in Georgetown. I felt perfectly at home here as everything was on a human scale. The hotel was within easy walking distance of Independence Hall (eight blocks along Spruce St), Reading Terminal Market (four blocks along 12th Street) and...

What a brilliant place to stay for a woman travelling on her own! I made this place my home for a week on a recent business trip to the US from Melbourne Australia. This is an excellently located, well priced and welcoming hotel. The staff were always extremely helpful and friendly. Good amenities and a nice, quiet, safe place to...

This was our spot to stay for attending a Saturday wedding in Philadelphia. The staff, room, location and breakfast were all fine, and the historic building and restored decor were lovely. They even keep some snacks available throughout the day, and were very good with recommendations for sights and restaurants.
