The reviews for Riverview Hotel are all over the place. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Yes it is old (100 years) the room we were in was small with a window unit for air conditioning, which worked fine. But this old Inn and owners have a lot of personality. We enjoyed sitting on the porch... More

Below is the email I sent to the hotel, I never received a response. I loved the idea of staying at an inn that felt more like an old home. The location was amazing and the view was great. Otherwise, I'm so disappointed by our stay! I've attached some pictures. I arrived and there was shampoo in the room which... More

This 100-years-old inn is filled with antique furniture, charm, and a warmth you only find in family owned and run hotels. My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Riverview Hotel in 1991 and waited 25 years to return just to make that celebration even more special. We will not wait another 25 years for our next visit. We love... More

Could be an awesome place. Needs upgrading desperately. No A/C on in hotel..just wondow unit in the room, which wasn't on when we arrived. .toasty warm in June! Free breakfast was bagged bagels and english muffins...bleh. Quiet, lazy southern town. Enjoyed the free music in the park. If we go back just won't stay at this hotel.

On a whim I decided to stop in Saint Mary's during a roadtrip North to Atlanta. I used priceline late one Saturday night and was surprised at the well priced accommodation at Riverview Hotel. I was absolutely smitten upon arriving as it feels like 100 years ago. The two story hotel was well lit and very authentic in every way.... More

This hotel is over 100 years old. The lobby is a bit of shabby chic and dominated by the owner's dog and cat - both very friendly. Pets are welcome. The bar on Saturday night has entertainment and often the owner sits in with him to sing away (they are both very good). The rooms are tiny. We had a... More

Stayed in room 15. Bathroom tile broken, sharp points and edges there for bare feet. Not good. Overall peace is dirty and cluttered and in need of a lot of maintenance and fresh coat of paint. Clear neglect on part of owners, just bare minimum effort in management.

Positives-1. Walking distance to the ferry if you are visiting Cumberland Island. 2. Our room had a beautiful view of the peer. Negatives-1. Hotel and furnishings need an upgrade. (We had issues with the air conditioning, 2 of 3 lights in our room were plugged in but did not work, horrible tv reception on a very small tv that could... More

We had been driving for ten hours when we arrived in St. Mary's. Our first stop was at the Riverview to see if they had any availability. We asked the desk person if they had a room, they didn't. I asked her if she could refer us to another hotel. The clerk coldly replied we should look in a phone... More

We stayed at Riverview Hotel for a long weekend trip a couple of weeks ago and it was wonderful. The rooms are very quaint, unique and comfortable. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. We loved sitting on the porch and watching the river. The bar was a fun place to converse with both locals and tourists. The first night... More
