Great location - 5 mins walk to Grand Central station. Grand and impressive lobby however reception staff were quite aloof and not very friendly. Answers to queries were very abrupt, as if we were bothering them. Room was clean, comfy beds and pillows although bathroom was tired looking. Great cleaning service at the beginning of the week (it was nice...

We stayed in this hotel in dec 2012. I recently joined tripadvisor, so now Im telling my experience with this hotel six months after. Like any other NYC hotel its really pricey for what they offer. But overall not that bad as I had my share of really lousy NYC hotels in the past. Hotel room and bathroom is really...

We got these rooms for 138 per night via a bid site...I thought it was a very fair deal! (July 4th weekend) It's 2 blocks from Grand Central station, a short walk to Times Square or Rockefeller center- great central location! Lobby is lovely, checkin was quick and easy, most important everything was CLEAN. Everything smelled clean.Rooms are tiny, bathrooms are tiny-...

The AC barely worked in both rooms-- took about 5-6 hours to cool the room 1 degree...ridiculous! Our second upgraded room (after complaining how uncomfortable tge first one was regarding temperature) was a box shape with not much in it except for basic bed, desk and TV w/ stand. There was no mini bar or fridge. The bathrooms were basic...

Thank you for your comments and review. You are correct, we are not a 4 star hotel. We are actually a 3 star/diamond, AAA rated property. Most reservation web-sites have their own criteria for star ratings which is usually based on the customer ratings and not the services/amenities a hotel will offer. Our apologies that the Roosevelt did not meet...

When we first entered the hotel I thought is was magnificent (and I don't say that very often). The lobby is very ornate and clean. I was however a bit disappointed when we got to our room. The room was European small. And although the room and bathroom were clean, the tub could have used a makeover. It looked like...

We got a good rate on Priceline for this hotel and overall were very pleased. The location is fantastic (close to Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue, etc). and I found the front desk staff very friendly and accommodating. The room we had was small, but quiet. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. The bathroom was aged...

I stayed here in 2010 with a friend for her 21st and having stayed in several other New York hotels before and after this trip I can confirm its the best I have visited. Older hotel in a good location. Air conditioning reminiscent of Howard Johnson's motels of the 1960s...loud, ineffective, complete freeze or roast. Bathroom of the Cozy Queen was soooo small that you has to keep your arms close to your chest to comb your hair. Staff, especially the concierge staff were very helpful. If you get a really cheap price -...

Thank you for your comments and review. Our most sincere apologies for any issues you experienced with our elevators. I booked a singles room and my goodness! The room is TINY (smaller than what you'd normally get in NYC), everything looks old, the toilet looks like what you'd get from one of those whatever Inns. Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
