My friend and I (two 30-something women) stayed here for 3 nights on a shopping trip. The previous reviews are pretty comprehensive and we found the postive reviews borne out by our experience, which was just fine. I was especially impressed with the size of our room (normal hotel room size! In New York!) I've previously stayed in Chelsea at...

We spent 2 nights here and chose it primarily for the available parking as we drove in from Illinois and for the pool (we have 2 kids). I agree with previous post that the reception staff is not terribly friendly, however the hotel met all our needs, was clean, quiet and a great location. We also walked to and from...

After reading previous reviews on Tripadvisor, I booked this hotel. The hotel would definetely NOT win the friendliest hotel award 2006, reception staff were not very 'forthcoming'. However the room was clean and accomodating, but bathroom is tiny! I requested a quiet room, and was located on the 6th floor overlooking pool, heard no noise from main street. I experienced...

We booked this hotel after reading online reviews and I was still a little nervous about such a cheap hotel (relative to other NYC hotels), but we were seriously impressed! We arrived early, but the parking attendant told us to go on in and register and then we could park in the lot right away. We parked our van in...

We took our family including 2 young girls to New York City this past weekend and stayed at the Travel Inn. I was impressed by the reviews on this site therefore, I decided to give it a try! When I go back to NYC, I will stay here! The hotel was so easy to get to, right off of the...

I stayed here at the end of July 2006 and had a nice and comfortable stay. I travelled to NYC by myself and was a little concerned about my safety, but all is well when you're inside the Travel Inn. I don't know what the other negative reviewers are talking about. But, I can say that even the ritziest places...

My family of five including three children (10, 7 and 5) stayed here from July 10-12. We arrived about an hour before check-in and our room was ready. I requested a room near the pool and was given a room on the 3rd floor -right outside the pool. The room location was perfect for us, near the elevator and pool....

We stayed at the Travel Inn last week. We had requested a nonsmoking double overlooking pool room months ago. Upon check in (3pm), we were given a room on the 3rd floor overlooking 42nd street. The room was dirty and there was a man repainting door casings upon arrival. We were told we could leave our luggage there and it...

I am a 37 year old woman, who stayed at the Travel Inn between 6/28 and 7/1/06 with my 9 year old daughter and 14 year old daughter. The hotel was very clean, but that is as far as I care to compliment this hotel. Upon check in, we arrived at 1pm (check in is 3pm), and were told our...

My son, his girlfriend and I spent 6 nights at the Travel Inn in June and had a great time there. This was the second time I've stayed here and it was even better than my first stay. Our room was right on 42nd st. across from the police station. I was concerned about noise, but it wasn't an issue....

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
