Upon my second time staying at the Westin I was greeted by the fantastic Deidre and Pei at the front desk. They remembered me from my first stay and were incredibly accommodating during my stay. Enjoyed catching up with them makes for a great check in. Definitely helps make the hotel my new favorite place to stay when I’m in the city. Will be back soon. Such a great location, view and gym.
Really great stay and great employees! My adult daughter and I stayed at this property for a mom/daughter trip. I should mention I am a Platinum Bonvoy member but I don’t know that my experience would have been different otherwise. Location is 20 minutes from LGA. About a $40 cab ride (Uber was 1.5x that). The gentleman at the front door were chatting with one another before my cab pulled up. They were having a great time, laughing and clearly enjoying one another’s company. This is a sign of high engagement and a sign of two colleagues enjoying one another’s company. It was so nice to see. When I arrived they were very attentive and helped me immediately with my bag. (Don’t forget to tip)! The lobby was busy but was checked in quickly and the gentlemen who checked me in was wonderful. He was kind enough to provide me with 2 free drink tickets, which was very welcomed. The room was a double on the 36th floor. It’s quite large for a NYC room. The accommodations are very well appointed and I always love my heavenly bed and White Tea body products. The bar in the lobby was very nice and had a great dinner menu, although we didn’t dine there, the food looked great. We did enjoy an evening at the bar and our bartenders were great and ensured we had everything we needed. We liked the location of the hotel. It’s midtown but not Times Square, which was great. I’m fortunate enough to travel to NYC enough that I don’t need to be in all that craze. We had breakfast on Sunday AM. They only offer a buffet for breakfast (or a few items to go) so that was a disappointment. I wasn’t nearly hungry enough for the buffet but had to pay $40 for it anyway. The buffet was fine. Nothing special. Im also gluten free so that never leaves options for me. The employees at the restaurant were great. Very busy and hustling to accommodate the busy diners. Just a great stay. I may have found my new place to in NYC! Great job of the GM/managers and all the employees.…
Firstly, the staff are generally lovely. However the room was quite dirty, and even after cleaning it remained so. The breakfast isn't fabulous either. This hotel is overpriced for what you get. Also, when I checked in there was a problem with my credit card, and the desk staff wouldn't let me check in, even though I offered them the card to keep until the next day when I would have sorted it with my bank (it was 11.30pm in the UK). Thankfully a work colleague was on hand to use their card, otherwise I'm not sure what I'd have done!
What can I say about the Best Doorman ever- Hector and his accomplice in pure and genuine kindness, Deidre. You both were warm, welcoming and wonderful! We’d come back just to see you both again. Thank you for treating us so graciously!
Dennis, our doorman, was the best! He put us on everything we had questions about, and his recommendations were on point. Dennis really made this getaway weekend from New Orleans flow seamlessly in the big city.
Well located and a spectacular hotel with amazing staff. Had a great time and will be back for all my NY visits. When we arrived the valet took incredible care of our car and hotel. Then they gave us an upgrade with incredible views. We also had a terrific breakfast. An all around great experience.
Pei was extremely friendly and accommodating during check-in, getting my stay off to an amazing start. The room is very nice with a great view. I am looking forward to utilizing the well-appointed gym, and high quality complimentary breakfast service.
Ashawna was the BEST and I mean BEST front desk receptionist we’ve ever encountered. She made sure that we felt welcomed and informed us on all the fun activities to do. The entire stay was wonderful! Will be staying here again next time in New York!
The hotel is in a convenient location, recently well renovated but the changes to the lobby area with the open restaurant bar make it feel more like a train station or airplane terminal. The hotel charges a $30 resort fee that gives you credit for breakfast or drinnks and some other freebies and $20 day dry cleaning credit-useless for a 1 night stay. I used the credit for breakfast--the food and service underwhelmed. The seemed short staffed. The food was just average, not a $25 hotel breakfast.
The Doorman Hector was amazing. He made sure our bags were secure and kept me and my husband smiling. He was very friendly. I had New York on my bucket list and Hector added to a great experience. -Therapist Mickell D.
