The Inn at Irving Place

Originally built in 1834, three single family brownstones sat at the corner of 17th and Irving Place. Over the years, the corner brownstone was torn down and a small apartment building was built in its place. The two remaining brownstones have stood the test of time, and they now create The Inn. While once combined as a single family home, the brownstones also housed everything from apartments, The Ingersol Mens Club, a Speak Easy, and a Beauty Parlor and Day Spa. After completion of a three year renovation, The Inn at Irving Place opened its door in December of 1994.

I recently stayed here for a week while the wife was having surgery around the corner (couldn't stay with her). I chose this hotel based on two factors. Walking distance to the hospital, and old world charm. There are several modern hotels in the area,...More

I picked the Inn primarily for its location but the photos in the website suggested that it was also an attractive, comfortable vintage residence. If one overlooked the dusty moldings and louvered blinds or the shabby furniture, one could approximate the charm and elegance of...More

As others have commented, if you want the charm of a quaint, old fashion inn then this is your place. My son and I stayed in the suite with the king bed for one night. Plenty of room and quiet. While we had no problem...More

Parking in New York is an art and a science. Out of towners are best advised to use parking garages. There are several in the neighborhood, but they are not cheap. Otherwise, assuming you can even FIND a spot on a street in... More
