What can I stay! This hotel is beyond 5 star i'd even give it the new 'five star plus'!! The staff are so pleasent and helpful. The rooms are very spacious which I was surprised at, I was expecting a smaller room giving it is NYC. It was a special occasion for myself and we had mentioned that on check...

Dear Guest, Thank you for the superb review, and I am delighted to hear you had such a wonderful experience at The Surrey. I agree that our location offers a more composed alternative to Central Park East, with all the grandeur of Manhattan’s premier museums, galleries and designer boutiques. Our hotel offers residential luxury with sophisticated and thoughtful service to...

My husband I travel to New York often and have found a "home away from home" at the Surrey Hotel. We've stayed at this hotel at least five times in the past few of years and are always made to feel like we are VIP guests. The location is fantastic, discreetly tucked around the corner from Madison Avenue. The rooms...

This was our second visit to The Surrey, and it feels like a home away from home. The location, rooms, amenities, and service are exceptional. Virtually all of the staff members were helpful and accommodating. There were two small incidents that stood out in an otherwise flawless stay. 1. The Surrey's website clearly indicates that there is free wifi when...

Dear Guest, Please allow me to express my sincerest apologies for the inconveniences and disappointments you experienced during your stay, from the condition of your accommodation to the service you received from our front desk and staff. It is simply inexcusable, and I know my apologies cannot even begin to make amends for the frustrations you felt while visiting New...

Stayed at the Surrey for 2 nights on a business trip in January 2015. First impression wasn't too great. Driver dropped me off in front of the hotel but there was no one outside to help me with my bags. hmmmmmm...... Might be too cold perhaps to stay outside. Anyway, once the staff noticed me, they were more than helpful....

Quick getaway in the city for a pre valentine dinner in Daniel's, for this purpose the hotel is in a good location on the upper east side. It also houses cafe Daniel where we also had lunch and breakfast. A little bit mixed feeling about the hotel though, the reception space is very small with limited seating, maybe as expected...

I think the hotel is much more organized and they've wirked out the kinks but this room needs refurbishing. End table drawers didn't close, desk needed to be touched up, shower sprays on bathroom floor.room just looks tired. Note that this rooms view is a huge air handler. I'll request different room next time.

To celebrate a 60th birthday, we booked a girlfriend getaway at The Surrey last weekend. I was looking forward to staying at the only Relais & Chateaux property in NYC. My January visit to The Inn at Little Washington, a R&C property in Virginia, was spectacular. The Surrey unfortunately has a number of hospitality lessons to learn from The Inn...

Had a wonderful stay at The Surrey. Staff was friendly, responsive and delivered on all of our requests promptly. The room was clean and spacious. It was quiet too. I'm very sensitive to noise and I could barely hear loud NY in the background. The neighborhood is very upscale and there isn't too much action going on at night which...

The hotel has a great location and I cannot fault our room. Our check in was not a pleasant experience and therefore would not recommend. I did not get a five star experience. Just a good room. We really could not fault the Surrey! Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
