I was hoping to have a great stay with my son in NYC’ My mother gave me a $400 gift card from Marriott. I was excited about that gift. Little did I knew that my mom just wasted her $400 dollars. No Marriott hotel apparently takes their own gift cards. It’s a shame how poor their customer service is. From now on I definitely will always stay at any other hotel but NOT Marriott. Any other business on earth takes gift cards even some little mom and pop shops. And yet Marriott hotels pretend like they don’t know what it is. Why would you issue a gift card if your customers will never be able to use it?! Before making reservation I called Sheraton hotel and asked to make reservation with my gift card. They told me they instead would happily take my credit card because their system is not accepting gift cards on the phone. So when I arrived to the Marriott - Sheraton hotel I presented my gift card at check-in. The woman at the front desk said we will take your gift card at check out. So I presented it at my check-out and I was told they can’t accept gift cards at check out either. I would truly appreciate if someone from Marriott (maybe their billing department) could return my mother’s 400 dollars back and simply take this gift card’s digits with its pin code. That’s all I’m asking! It’s just not fair towards my elderly mother who was just trying to give her son and her grandson a nice experience at the Marriott hotel.…
Excellent service from check in to check out. All staff was approachable & friendly. A gentleman named Julian went out of his way to help me solve a problem with my breakfast. I don’t think it was his job to do that but he was happy to help. It definitely brightened my day. The entrance is also gorgeous.
-Very busy lobby - like a train station -Very small dark rooms - good for if you need to sleep in the day but otherwise there is not enough light! -Ample bench space in the room to put your things on -Tiny bathrooms but they were clean and the shower had good water pressure -Bellmen not forthcoming to assist especially in hailing a cab when you have luggage -Skip breakfast in the restaurant - was very average -You can hear the people in the room next door snoring - very thin walls!
I spent few days there from July 20-24 2022. The check-in process was quite fast considering that i was earlier than expected. The room was ok. I had booked a Traditional King. Although i was expecting something bigger it was a great room. The only downside was the wall between room (at least on the 8th) does not seem very thick and i could hear the neighbor until late i did try their Hudson Market restaurant. Not too bad but on the expensive side
I stayed at the hotel at the beginning of July. Hotel was full, lots of people, and super busy. The hotel is not bad. But I've been tricked and I don't like what's happening. Upon check in I was told that I would be charged a deposit of $151 and that this deposit would be credited on my check out. I've checked my card several times and still haven't received the credit. I called the hotel and also the Marriott call centre. On July 8th I received a call on my cell phone from the Sheraton saying that I would be credited the $151 in 5 business days. Today we are already on the 20th of July and still nothing. I called Marriott again and was told that Sheraton New York Times Square closed my case. Marriott is now reopening the case. I was deceived and I have proof of everything that was said to me. I'm waiting for my money back. Avoid the Sheraton, or make sure they credit you with your money back at check out right the way. Don't trust anyone at the Sheraton.…
The Sheraton sits just 5 mins walk to times square, Broadway, central park and other attractions. Obviously very close to shopping areas too. We found the hotel room clean with a reasonable view from floor 12, and reception was always attentive despite being busy. We tried the restaurant there and was quite nice but of course slightly pricey. You can find cheaper meal options outside in the back streets. More than adequate and ideal for all your tourist needs. I would go back quite happily.
We stayed there from June 23-26 2022. The staff was very friendly, helpful, check in /out were quick. No surprises, bill was accurate. We stayed there with my 6 yrs old. Room was clean, not at all noisy (34th floor) we had a higher floor but it was a weekend and we were not at all bothered by anything. Location is fantastic, right next to subway station and couple of blocs from the park. Would recommend and would stay there again.
A fabulous hotel room with plenty of space for our family. We had two queen beds and were comfortable. The bathroom is tight for space but offered a decent shower. Easy access to many places in the Times Square area. Enjoyed grabbing coffee at Starbucks.
I was a little worried having read some recent reviews, however I can’t understand why they felt that way. Our experience was excellent. Due to flight times we arrived over an hour early for check in - no problem, we were still checked in immediately by Nicole who was absolutely lovely and gave us a friendly welcome. The room was immaculate, yes it wasn’t super modern but that fits with the style of the hotel. Really comfy beds. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but grabbed a few bits in Starbucks/the bar and again staff were great. The location couldn’t be beaten - just into Times Square area enough that it’s an easy walk but away from the immediate hustle and bustle. We would definitely stay again.
This hotel is filled with MANY tour groups. Everywhere but your room has a tour group of some sort. The property itself has seen better days. The rooms are ok. Your typical hotel room, nothing special. The Location is pretty near perfect. You are in the Times Square Area, but do not feel like you are in Times Square. 5-10 min walk to all of the Theatres. Many subway stations are footsteps away from the Hotel.
