I overlooked all the negative reviews and booked a room here, due to the convenient location, to celebrate my daughter's 10 birthday. I called the hotel the day before I left to confirm all the fees and deposits and I was told the deposit was $50 per day. I booked this room using a virtual credit card like I always do to keep my personal card info separate. Upon arriving the first guest services guy told me I needed a physical card and he could not charge the card on file for the room. (I'm still confused by that) He also told me the deposit was $100 per day. (Not what I had been told just the previous day) I politely asked to speak with the manager and it got worse. This lady began to tell me that none of the hotels in the area accept virtual cards and I was out of luck. She then said they could do a credit card authorization form. I agreed however she took 3 steps and turned back and said "on second thought" they couldn't do that neither. I asked her specifically what I was suppose to do with my family. Her response...."That's not my problem". Luckily I was able to get online and found the Westin Hotel in Times Square, which did accept virtual cards by the way, and allowed me to book, did not charge a "resort fee" and the location was better. The staff was amazing accommodating for my daughter's first time in NYC. I would really reconsider booking with this hotel. There are way better options in the same area.

Hotel's Favourite
Daniel was awesome at the front desk, the hotel itself was clean, the room was missing some lights and a fridge, but other than that I would give service 6 out of 5 stars, the hotel itself 4 out of 5.

Ok this place looks good on the website and other online travel sites but this place really needs to be renovated in the worst way. It’s just old and dingy. It is close to time square so it does have that going for it and the staff is nice. The walls are beat up, fixtures and furniture are really old. The furniture will remind you of something you see at a garage sale. When you walk into this hotel the lobby is kind of impressive but it is just lacking in serious upgrades. My family and I stayed in a suite and the lady at the front desk bragged how great the room was because we left one hotel to come to this one because our previous room was so bad. NYC needs to step up its game on hotels.

Why it is important not to ignore the red flags. I read a lot of negative comments about this hotel, yet I chose to ignore them and decide for myself! Dumb me… Please don’t do my mistake. Consider all red flags…make informed decisions accordingly… Choose any other hotel other than this one! …I mean it Any! If you are planning a visit to NY and all what you care about is location and accessibility then ignore the above point and consider this hotel as an option l. If you have any sort of expectation… huge or minor ones, I would recommend getting anything else! The place is filthy, old and so outdated. No refrigerator (although I have requested for one 5 times), no coffee machine all accompanied by rude staff ( maybe it was my luck) but even their duty manager Nick is so unprofessional.
