We booked 2 rooms in March for our stay in November this year. After reading the reviews in this site I rang them in September and made sure we had 2 of the upgraded rooms. When we checked in we were given 108 and 118, one at least 40% bigger than the other. 108 is a pleasant room but in...

I have just returned from a 5 night trip to New York staying in the Herald Square hotel. We booked this hotel after reading all of the good reviews on Trip Advisor. The hotel was exactly as described. Location is excellent, which is all important in NY. We had booked a large room with two double beds and this is...

We stayed at the Herald Square Hotel in November 2006 and generally found the experience to be a positive one. The hotel is most definitely not the Ritz - but the value of the accommodation cannot be questioned. We struggled to find any hotel room in New York for the night we wanted to stay and were happy to pay...

I was advised by a friend to try it out. I have stayed in NY 100 times over the years. By far, this is the best value I've found in the city. Great location, minutes from everything. Helpfull, courteous and knowledgable staff. The room was new, quiet, clean, amazing bed, and had a flatscreen TV. The bathroom was spacious, bright...

I only stayed here two nights but of the four hotels I tried while in New York this was my favorite. The fact that this was once the office building for Life magazine still is apparent in the hallways but the seasonal displays of Life covers was a nice touch. They are in the midst of renovations so be warned...

Reasonable location, safe area, near Korean restaurants, Macy's, Herald Square, subway, etc. I had a small single room, with the bathroom down the hall. The room was so small, you couldn't even open the door all the way to get in... and it was still over $100 per night. It was clean and quiet, no real waiting to use the...

I have traveled around the world and I must say this was not only a very reasonable rate but was also one of the nicest rooms I have seen in a long time! The beds were incredibly comfortable with the whitest, softest sheets and blankets including a comforter which all felt like the beds of some of the finest European...

Last month (8-15 October), my cousin and I stayed at the Herald Square Hotel, and we were extremely happy with our overall experience there. We shared a large double/double room (two double beds) facing W31st Street, which was more than adequate for our needs. Everything was immaculately clean, including the bathroom, which was admittedly small, but this was compensated by...

Having been inspired by all the positive reviews of this hotel I decided to book a single room for 5 nights. I contacted the hotel a couple of days before to see if I could get one of the newly renovated rooms but was informed that the single rooms had not yet been done up but was assured that I...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
