The absolute best aspect of this hotel is its location. Next door to grand central station with multiple subway lines running through it and a side door to get into grand central from the hotel without needing to even go on the street. The room was a good sized room, got the city view king size and had a great view of Grand Central. The clean up crew did a decent job, always did a good job cleaning but a few days did not restock towels and wash rags when dirty. Also had burnt out lights where we needed a light. Also the 1st night I stayed they charged me an extra charge that was very significant amount of money, but they handled it immediately and refunded my money. But was still frustrating that I had to deal with that and worry about it while I was on vacation. Overall it is a nice hotel and would stay there again and recommend them to friends and family.…
I really enjoy my stay at the great location of this hotel. Its walking distance to all the main attractions that New York has to offer. The food hall in Grand Central Station is a few feet away and its great to be able to use the subway so easily too. The hotel had just opened this week but everything was great!
Had high expectations for property. Instead it was disgusting. Had two room and both had such disgusting showers with mold and mildew. The sofas were so dirty you could not sit on it. Maintenance had to be called for no working AC. Escalator was broken. Kiosk was broken the entire stay. Light switch did not work and was dangling from wall. Blow dryer was missing, fridge did not cool. Rooms were not given wash clothes. Phone in room did not work, so had to. All downstairs using cell phone.
No restaurant, no bar, no breakfast dining area. A/C was barely working and refrigerator in room was not cold. The bathroom was very small with no counter space for makeup, etc. Very hard to maneuver in such a small space.
This location is extremely outdated, cracks in walls, old smelly carpet, dingy room furniture, and hair in tub from previous guest. I felt so disgusted staying at this hotel. I had to change rooms twice and each room was equally as horrifying. The television didn’t work and the room smelled warm and moist. The best part of this hotel is the lobby, it’s beautiful.
Need over haul of Room , room services , room equipments etc badly it’s depressing to stay more Though world over I always prefer Hyatt but New York Hyatt Central need push of Energy & Charm into the hotel and staff
I was very pleased with my stay and the property. I had stayed there over 10 years ago and it was as good as I had remembered. Great location in New York City for any activity in New York, whether you are traveling on business or pleasure
The only positive side is the location at Grand Central. For the rest, forget it…. I have stayed there for 10 days: - no or very poor day light in the room. - housekeeping in the room is bad: not cleaned properly, for example shower not cleaned at all, carpet not vacuumed. Totally inconsistent from one day to another (when you are lucky you have shampoo otherwise wait for your next day try). - Careful with a 39 dollars service fee charged on top of the room rate every day. In return the hotel offers you a 15 dollars credit at their over over priced daily store. - want to leave your luggage with the concierge before leaving: pay 3dollars per piece. So, not a pleasant experiene….
Great location. Rooms were overall clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful in all our issues and questions. When an issue arose concerning our room, we were able to switch room with no hassle ( and a better one!). However given the location, be prepared to hear the traffic/honking but that’s expected in NYC !! Would go back again!
Hyatt Grand Central is definitely first class. Its location next to Grand Central Station was perfect. Excellent customer service and accommodations. Next trip to New York City will likely result in a return stay at the Hyatt Grand.
