I had a better experience than another recent guest. My room was on a high floor and faced 55th street and I had a view of a dome, some sky, and out of the corner, a rooftop garden. There WAS construction but it wasnt a problem with noise for very long. Maybe half a day out of the four nights/five...

Even we asked for a nice room as we were celebrating wedding aniversary, the room was very small, old and extremly noisy. People very friendly and helpfull, but too expensive for what we got. Breakfast across the street is average. Sorry but would not stay there again.

Dear Ghofnug, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you found the room to be too small for your liking. You booked a superior queen room which is the room you stayed in. Unfortunately we were fully booked that week, otherwise we would have gladly upgraded you to a larger room for your special occasion. The breakfast at Au...

This hotel is in a great location.....3 blocks north of Central Park, walking distance to Broadway shows, restaurants, and many museums, (MOMA). I booked and paid for the hotel back in April, and requested that we be in a QUIET room, on a high floor, facing 55th street. By quiet, I realize that this is Manhattan, and that regular city...

Loved this quaint boutique hotel just W of Central Park. Location was perfect. Subway within 3 minute walk, On/Off bus within 10 minute walk. Staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Allowed us to check-in early (godsend), upgraded our room, and bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable. Breakfast (included) was pretty disgusting- Au Bon Pain - their staff...

Dear Katsanddogs2, Thank you for your kind review. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and enjoyed the upgrade. From the web site you are left with the impression that the Blakely is an elegant hotel with the aura of an English country house. The reality is that the Blakely is simply an old hotel with rooms stuffed with old furniture. The restaurant? Well it’s closed for re-modeling but this fact is something that the Blakely prefers to tell...

Dear Polymath2016, I am very sorry to hear your stay was not what you expected. Our previous restaurant closed unexpectedly which left us with very little time to find a suitable complimentary breakfast to supply our guests. "Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer' will be opening late this fall and will have an upgraded continental breakfast as well as full...

This hotel is in a wonderful location but is very old with outdated and worn decor and features. The restaurant lounge was closed for remodel on our visit without our prior knowledge and was very incovenient. The work out area/room has no ventilation and very subpar. We did have a double room that was generous in size but very dowdy.

Dear laketahoelove, Thank you for your review. We take all feedback very seriously. The Blakely New York is a traditional English Club style hotel and is decorated in a more old fashioned manner. We are anticipating the opening of our new restaurant "Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer" to open late fall of this year. They will be serving a...

The Blakely is so well located. West 55th street is a good location for the park & for getting anywhere in Manhattan. There is a subway on the corner & the street is remarkably quiet with less traffic than most roads in this area. The Blakely is a small 4 star hotel that is well appointed, clean & tidy. Our...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
