Echoing other travelers who've said that the Cosmopolitan Hotel Tribeca is a great value, great location with helpful staff. The Chambers Street subway entrance is right in front of the hotel and there are several good eateries, a Starbucks next door and a charming Art Nouveau-decorated French cafe serving a delicious and light breakfast. The first night I had to...

Excellent location with many things within a quick walk, and a subway entrance right on the corner. Clean, quiet and great bed. Definitely a small room (and bathroom), but I was never really there except to sleep. Friendly staff. But the best part was the room rate! Excellent value and hard to find in Manhattan. I'd stay here again, but...

I stay in many Manhattan hotels at many levels and neighborhoods. The Cosmopolitan Hotel is definitely worth a stay. Okay, if you are coming for luxury, go elsewhere. But if you seek value on Manhattan, good neighborhood, subway access, a clean and "better than basic" room AND a staff that is coordinated and eager to please, the Cosmo is the...

Traditional NY hotel - quite old but been refurbished. Great location in Tribeca near the World Trade Centre site. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby and and there's a subway right outside the hotel. We had an 'odd' loft room which was very narrow with stairs up to a double bed and an en suite bathroom below. We were asked...

The hotel has good location with a subway station directly outside the hotel. The whole staff is extremely helpful, friendly and very very professional. However you have also to take into consideration a few problems of this property: the standard rooms are extremely small with one queen size bed and a microscopic bathroom. It definitely didn't seem like a double...

We stayed here a few weeks back and found the hotel to be average. It is an older hotel, the hallway smelled moldy/cleaning product-y, and the elevator only fit 6 people max. Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
