The location is great (approx. 15 minutes by foot), the room was rather big and it was clean. There were some starts lost because there is no free wifi, the breakfast (additional charge) was only ok with a special service and plastic forks, the bathroom was rather old and we had the most stupid shower in the world. Also, we...

I visited NYC with six women and we booked 3 rooms at the Salisbury. Great location, close to subways and lots of attractions. Rooms by NYC standards were very large. We had one suite with living room with sofa bed. There was a concern and staff reacted promptly. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Luggage stored for free and we...

I loved this hotel! It is in a building that was built in the 1920s as an apartment building, so the 2-room suites are huge! Our suite had 4 closets! The hotel retains the charm of its heritage and you can almost 'see' how the people lived there in the past. It also had a nice little kitchenette with a...

First time in NYC - we walked into the place and I thought we made a huge mistake - I was super wrong. The Salisbury was a great unique stay and it starts with the staff. Desk clerk was efficient within minimal interaction but their bell team was outstanding. Nick was warm, welcoming, and knowledgable. The hotel itself is unique,...

After reading other reviews I thought this hotel might be iffy. Not at all. From the moment I walked in and engaged with the front desk until my final step out with a nod from the doorman, it was a fine experience. Pros: location within 2 blocks of Central Park, across the street from Carnegie Hall, a few blocks from...

Wonderful hotel clean room service and tasty breakfasts, super location. Couldn't fault this hotel at all. Friendly reception staff. Perhaps the only criticism would be the WiFi service but it didn't ruin my stay one bit.

I booked a room here because I received a 50% off deal through expedia. Some of the reviews were disconcerting, but I was having a difficult time finding a room for 3. I'm so glad I took advantage of the deal! Yes, this is an older hotel. I love that. It has so much character! It is not rundown. The...

We were a family of four on a budget looking for a bit more space than just your standard two doubles. The Salisbury delivered the usual two bed configuration plus another room with sofa bed and armchair, and mini kitchenette with microwave, fridge and dining table and two chairs. The quirkiest thing of all were the four huge closets, which...

The location is great and close to Central Park and Times Square. It is very dated and the bathroom is very small. It is pretty quiet and the TV was good. I traveled with a group and I don't think I would choose this place on my own. I have been to NYC several times and there are much better...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
