I've stayed at the Salisbury before and find it to be a great value. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location couldn't be better. Close to MOMA and Carnegie Hall and walking distance to so much more, as well as convenient to several...More
it was a fine hotel for the price and location. clean and comfortable. location was across from Carnegie, close to central park. there are no frills. only complaint was the water temperature changed all throughout showers. had to keep turning the knobs to stay comfortable
We booked this hotel understanding it was budget but reality was less than this. Tired rooms & infrastructure, indifferent staff only confirmed this for us. Realistically there are many more hotels that could offer the same in locations just as convenient.
First and foremost, my review is that the Salisbury is a "very good" (four green bubble) hotel for what it is: which is a budget hotel. It is not a four star or maybe not even a three star hotel. But it is a "very...More
I read the reviews and decided on this hotel for location and price. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Nothing special so if you aren't looking for the extras, this hotel is great value! No free wifi though.

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Hi - I don't remember specifically; however, I do know it was a charge we did not feel was justified and therefore, we did not use our wifi at the hotel. It was in teh $20-$25 range and it was a PER DEVICE charge, not per room. We went to a Starbucks close by when we needed it. We have 4 children, 2 of whom are teenagers and they LOVE their wifi, however, they did not complain about this once, probably because we were out so much. If I were traveling for business and had work to do, this might be a concern for me. For us, it wasn't an issue. Hope that helps.
