This is a well situated hotel. With taxes it's still over $200 and you have to pay for internet access, but our room was clean and roomy. Room 806. I think it is a handicap room so that may account for the roominess. It's an old hotel, but our room has been nicely updated.

GOOD: Great location, right next to the Empire State Building and very impressive hall, no noise - our room was on the back of the hotel. Although the room was next door to the elevator I didn't notice any noise coming from there. Staff efficient and polite. Complimentary muffins and coffee saved us in the morning - I thought the...

Bathroom functional, good shower, the hairdryer was very good which is a definite plus, spotlessly clean as was the whole hotel.Beds really comfortable. An added bonus was the complimentry tea/coffee and muffins in the lobby...

Stayed at this hotel between Sept 28th and October 2nd 2012. The room was small and warm but this is typical of a New york city hotel. However, the beds were comfortable. Complementary coffee and muffins are provided every morning. The hotel is about about 100 years old but is refurshed tastefully based on its orginal decor. There is a...

Hotel is as everyone states. Early 1900's architecture. Lovely Lobby and entrance. Staff very helpful. Thank goodness for the free coffee and muffins. Room was lovely, BUT Poor bathroom, shower with NO hot water. Air con was so noisy,we just laughed. But they need to look into the minors and would improve the Hotel ratings. Thank goodness for the in House...

Nice hotel in the middle of New York, Manhatten. Fine place for less money. Intercontinental breakfast was very poor. Subway to eat is nearby. And also several sighseeying objects. We stayed a few days and this was okay. We would chose it again.

3rd time in NYC and this was the best hotel so far. We stayed here for 3 nights for the start of 18 night road trip in the USA for our Honeymoon. The location couldn't be better, central for everything. On checking in the receptionist informed us we had one of their honeymoon rooms. We had a fantastic view of...

I agree with all the reviews which are positive about this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect and the hotel does its job. Staff are warm and welcoming and provided all the information we needed when asked. The room for three worked well though I can't imagine how a person of more than average stature would navigate in the bathroom!...

This was our 3rd time in New York, and our first at the Hotel Wolcott. Built in the early 1900's the architecture is amazing. Our room was spacious and super clean. Bed was comfy, lots of space to walk around, big screen TV, nice bathroom, great shower, and offerred a safe. Best of all, is it's location - just a...

This was our second time in NYC. Our first stay was at the Edison just off Times Square, which we found adequate. The Walcott in comparison was better. If you have seen the decor I'm sure you'll agree it looks a little dated. However, don't be put off by this. Our group had two rooms, both were a decent size...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
