We stayed 4 days in the Hotel Wolcott and we were pleasantly surprised. Some of the reviews were not very favourable, however it was clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful and polite. The decor is possibly a bit dated but the hotel is in a excellent location between Broadway and 5th Avenue and we could see the Empire...

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is on 31st St, just 50 metres to 5th avenue and it is very close to Empire States building. Most of the locations are at a walking distance, although it is a bit long to walk from the Penn Station with the luggages. (but not more than 10-15 mins) Times...

I stayed here for 4 nights with my two teenage sons in July as it was the only decent looking hotel with actual triple rooms (rather than two doubles) and having read the reviews beforehand, got pretty much what I expected. As most reviewers have said, the location is great and its pretty easy to walk to most places of...

Stayed here for six nights in July with wife and daughter for family vacation. Room was nice, clean and thankfully has a room safe which was very useful. The location was perfect as it was walking distance to everything. It is also close to CVS and Walgreens for beer, soft drinks and munchies. There was muffins and coffee in the...

We stayed for 3 nights for our first trip to New York. When we arrived, first impressions were not quite what we expected. Decor is quite old and dated (while the lobby is nice the bedrooms are quite old and stuffy) and bathrooms are not the best - the shower trickles rather than actually showering! The service is not the...

This hotel is really well located. The rooms are comfortable, clean and air conditioned (crucial during a NYC heat wave!) We had to pay a small charge for wifi but had a safe in our room. The room was slightly dated but very clean. If you're looking for a good base to explore the city this is perfect.

My husband and I stayed at The Hotel Wolcott in nyc this past June. It is a very neat and historic little gem in midtown. Our stay was very pleasant, convenient , it was very clean, service was good and the price was reasonable (less than $300 per night including the storing of our vehicle at a garage on the...

The Wocott is a lovely, well managed hotel in a great location. My room was unusually spacious and the whole place seemed really genuine (without doormen or luggage boys who expect you to accept their service even if you don't want it).

This is the second time we have stayed at the Wolcott. The location is great – just around the corner from the Empire State Building and close to Penn Station. The price is very reasonable for New York and includes a very basic breakfast of coffee and muffins which is served in the beautifully decorated foyer. We had booked a...

As I'm sure you're all aware, decent hotels in the city that never sleeps are not cheap. Therefore it was a great surprise and pleasure to find that the Wolcott Hotel although cheap, was also a very good hotel to stay in! The staff are friendly and helpful, giving advice and directions on exploring the city. The hotel and the...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

“back rooms are very quiet, not much view, but not much traffic noise.”

“Excellent location between 5th Av and Broadway would not stay anywhere else in NYC. Single glazed windows make for noisy mornings as expected with continuous construction and traffic so if you are a light sleeper this could be problematic but otherwise excellent value for money and location. Bed and Breakfast consists of tea, coffee and a baked muffin in the Lobby but 2 minute walk is a pharmacy that sells fresh cut fruit and cereal which we chose most days. Closely located to subway stations i.e. Penn station where you can buy a railcard for $21.00 this can be used for up to 4 people and is ideal for getting to and from sight seeing attractions up and down the city.”
