The location is very good. For a nation and industry that rightly prides itself on the high standards of customer service, the reception was awful; positively icy. The reception staff do not have name badges and I can see why. The elderly African American man with a short afro who checked us in mumbled and made us feel very uncomfortable....

We stayed three nights at this rather old fashioned but excellent hotel for a New York Visit. It is situated between Broadway and Fith Avenue on 31St street. It is ten minutes walk to Times square and most of the theatres.Another bonus is the free coffee and mufins in the mornings.Very clean plesent staff rooms a little on the small side...

Walked into the Wolcott and loved the high ceiling and old syle decoration in the lobby. This is where most people seem to choose to eat their free breakfast, which makes getting through to the Fitness Center a bit of an obstacle course some mornings. Our room/rooms where at the rear of the hotel and very quiet. We had booked...

It's an old building renovated. Room condition is functional. Bathroom is newly done. We got a handicapped bathroom & it's huge. Lobby is interesting and illustrated it's initial glory. Location is excellent. Metro & 5th Ave is at the corner and Korean Town is just one block away. Can walk to Time Sq in 15min time. Broadway & Empire State...

We visited New York for the first time and we where lucky to find so nice hotel with an excellent location, only 2 blocks from Empire State Building and shopping places. Very good quality and price ratio. We where completely satisfied with everything - location, price, service, interior - the only thing we missed was a breakfast but at least...

The location of this hotel is fantastic. Two blocks from Macy's and in the middle of some fantastic shopping. It was my friend and I sharing the room, and we got a Junior Suite. It was two rooms, queen size bed in the room with an adjoining room that has a twin size daybed. The adjoining room was very nice...

This was our 4th trip to New York and our first stay at the Walcott. We were completely satisfied with every aspect of our stay and the welcome we got from the staff at the hotel. The morning muffins and coffee were an unexpected treat. Consider The Walcott before you look elsewhere. As far as value for money goes I'm...

A very good location in manhattan. On arrival we found that our room had been upgraded to a 'junior suite' which was a good start. We were at the back of the hotel which meant that it was very quiet but lacked any real daylight.the rooms were reasonably decorated if a bit dated and were clean and tidy. The staff...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
