Rooms adequate very clean but small. Breakfast was plentiful but you had to queue for it. Tables far too close together you bumped chairs repeatedly with other guests. Staff were okay some better than others. Lady manager in Fashion bar was extremely rude (Lisette) will come bsck to NY but will stay elsewhere.
I picked this hotel because it was comparatively inexpensive and its location in the heart of the Theater District. I was very impressed by how helpful the front desk was, the cleanliness of the room, the decor, and the incredible breakfast buffet. It is about 15 short blocks to Central Park for anyone looking for a pleasant run or walk. In addition, it is just a block or two from Schmackery's Cookies (yum!).
We stayed at the plaza 14th sept/20th Great location! Quick check-in Was given a room on the 11 th floor! Elevators were not too bad! There was 6 available obviously busy in the morning going to breakfast! We was given a complimentary breakfast! We only used once! We went down early 7.15 thinking it would be quiet everyone had the same idea! Food was good great choice and quality! Unfortunately they cram as many tables and chairs in the 2 rooms as they can! It was comfortable at all! We was shown to our table went up to get food then when we went to sit someone else was sat there! Rooms very clean great views Air con good as it was warm! Walk in shower good! They do have shampoo/cond Body cream and soap complimentary! Great location 2 minute walk to time square ! 10 mins to Bryant park 25 min walk Central Park (definitely recommend gohybrid nY pedicab) 40mins to Hudson yard and high line! Loved it! Definitely would recommend! We also had a couple of meals in the bar attached! We got 20% off as we was staying in the hotel! Even the adjoining cafe was good! Staff friendly could not fault!…
This hotel is slap bang in the middle of Times Square. it is in a perfect location for seeing the sights ie Rockafeller Empire State, Madam Tussauds. It is also not far from Broadway and with the shops and theatres on the doorstep there is plenty to keep you entertained
We flew to New York to get married and chose to stay at this hotel as we have stayed in other Rui hotels around the world. The location was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We was however slightly disappointed with the room as it was quite small and poorly designed . On my wedding day it was a struggle as there was only one mirror which was behind the entrance door when really, it would normally of been above the desk . Minor things but things that made a difference . Lorie Ann who worked at the front desk was amazing and helped me find a dry cleaner to steam my dress as it wasn’t a service the hotel provided . The hotel served its purpose , a busy city hotel that caters for short stay visitors . If I could make any suggestion it would be to make the life lobby areas on each floor a little more homely as it comes across as quite clinical .…
Our room was a deluxe king but so small. The glazing did not keep out the noise from the street below so getting a restful night's sleep was impossible. Who thought a glass bathroom would be a good idea ? When the light is on inside it not only illuminated the entire room but also silhouetted the person inside for other occupants to see giving them no privacy. Plastic chairs in the free for all animal enclosure food facility otherwise known as the buffet was the final straw. It felt really cheap and nasty, the food quality was poor and it was tepid at best. Patrons were packed in like a kindergarten at lunch, constantly being jostled and bumped by the high amount of diners. If I had paid $50 per night I might not have been so bothered but at considerably more than that I expected a far superior service and certainly not one normally associated with a backpackers lodge.…
My first trip to NYC and traveling as a lone female I wanted to feel safe. The hotel is everything I wanted and more, it is right in the City near to shops and restaurants but away from all the neon. Broadway is on your doorstep so you have to see a show! I went bed and breakfast - so much choice, all wonderfully laid out. My room was lovely providing peace and tranquility at the end of a busy day. For me though it was the staff who gave real heart to this hotel. They welcome you with open arms and truly have the greatest patience when dealing with difficult guests (and some were very difficult!). Thank you Riu Plaza for making my adventure to New York such a special one.
The hotel was stunning. the rooms the same and the breakfast made it 3 stunning items in one stay. The staff were very friendly and the location 2nd to none. It is quite simply the best city hotel ever
Wonderful breakfast with gluten- free options. Delicious lattes and a fun window seat. Great location for everything Manhattan. Room was clean, modern and very comfortable. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We had one night in NYC and so glad we chose this hotel.
Very clean room. Decent size fro NYC. Queen Deluxe room. Nice big comfortable bed. Decent pressure in the shower. Room cleaned and serviced every day. Staff attentive and friendly. All public areas of the hotel are nice and clean. Room was very quiet. Good aircon too which was essential as was over 30' outside. Only very slight issue was the breakfast is very busy (we ate around 7am). This means by the time you get your hot buffet back to your seat from the line it can be a bit less than hot. Was still very tasty, and was not a massive problem. Will definitely be back to RIU Plaza.
