United States > New York > New York City > Midtown / Midtown West / Midtown / Manhattan
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
OMG, since the Waldorf closed I thought all was lost. I stayed here for 4 nights. Now, its expensive and I get it but the 1 bedroom suite I stayed in was everything decadent you expect, with plenty of space!! The bathroom had a tub and shower (i need a tub) and beautiful layout, …
Thank you for doing such an excellent job in hiring staff who want to provide a genuinely caring and exceptional experience for their guests. We had mouth-wateringly remembered for 1.5 years the best grilled cheese sandwich on the planet( yes, I’m writing about 5 star grilled che…
We had the pleasure of being served by Solomon at the lounge/restaurant at the Baccarat hotel. He was highly accommodating and gracious. He also recommended us amazing options from the menu, and referred us to the head chefs restaurant in New York. Solomon has served us before, a…
Awesome stay and perfect in every respect from the moment we stepped through the door. Great dinner at the Grand Salon, fabulous drinks and ambience at the Bar, returning to an exquisite room with a great staff complimenting the entire experience.
Although there are many reviews echoing similar sentiments, it's an honor to add my voice to the chorus. There are so many places where issues can arise across all the guest experience touch-points, but the Baccarat always navigates them flawlessly, clearly anticipating needs an…

Dear James S, thank you for your compliments. It is an honor to have you as a guest and we look forward for your next visit.
Are the rooms sound proofed? Is there traffic noise from the streets (car horns, sirens, etc.)? Are the halls quiet or is there a lot of activity and noise from guests? Looking for a very quiet, chill experience when I retreat to my room/suite to rest or sleep.
There's a store around 100 yards down the road. They do sandwiches as well I think, and tea & coffee. But as Joan L says, there are loads of stores in the area. For example a Pret a Manger on W 55th which is 5 minutes away.
Please can you tell me what temperature the pool and Jacuzzi are meant to be? I have read reviews about the lap pool being chilly.
Also, has anyone found to receive suboptimal treatment if choosing to book through a third party? I have found a fantastic rate online, but am anxious I will be treated differently.
I booked through a third party, but it was Platinum Amex Travel service in my case. I agree with a previous answer -- the place is very high end, so if the booking is legitimate (online or otherwise) I'd be shocked if you were treated any differently. Nobody forces them to publish these rates trough third parties after all.
Yes, it has free wi-fi.
The hotel is mid-way along a street so the only views are either the building opposite or the roof of the building around the back.
There are hotels with good views in NYC, so if that is important to you I would not recommend this hotel. Personally, I would not be too bothered about a hotel view as there are so many places to visit where the views are superb!
This autumn, I will go to NY and stay this hotel. I'd like to have a dinner at Chevalier restaurant in the hotel for our wedding anniversary. But is the restaurant no longer open?
