We stayed 3 nights in mid-March 2014. The location is perfect, just off Times Square. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and have nice comfy King size beds. Rooms are not massive but bigger than average given the central location. But dont expect much of a...More
My mother and I stayed here back in October for two nights as part of my 21st birthday road trip. We arrived in the city very early (5 am, to make a show taping) and had our luggage stored. The staff was nothing but courteous....More
Just back from 5 amazing days in New York for my 30th birthday. Hotel is a stones throw from Times Square making it a noisy spot although if you do the walking that we did, you would sleep through anything! Great friendly and helpful staff,...More
I researched our hotel choice for months before making a reservation. When a special offer came through a travel site, I looked into Hotel Mela. My friend and I were prepared for a small boutique hotel with closet sized rooms, but to our surprise it...More
Lovely hotel, good value, great location 1 main walk from times sq. Room is tiny but that's to be expected. Very clean and nice decor. Only downside is you can't control heating and sometimes it's cold.
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

They started the facilities fee last year. They all have it but you may not notice the fine print, depending on what site you book on. It is paying for the internet, fitness center and unlimited AND long distance calls, so many visitors from out of the country appreciate that. They get a lot of guests from other countries. If your travel agent didn't tell you they should have. Their own site and Expedia and all the others note the facilities fee.
