This was my second stay at this Marriott property. The first was for business with a midnight arrival and 6:00 AM departure. The hotel is fine for this type of stay. For anything longer I would recommend a nearby Courtyard as a better option as the rooms at the Renaissance are small and amenities are minimal. Check in via web...

Stayed for NYE 2017. Had an issue with some people smoking in the room next to us so we got upgraded to a fantastic suite !!! The staff were helpful throughout. Location is great. Rooms are simple but elegant.

Thanks for the 5/5 review, Yehia! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a wonderful New Years Eve with us! Our team works very hard to accommodate our guests, so it comes as no surprise that they took such good care of you. We're also pleased that you enjoyed our location and hope you were able to see some...

We chose this hotel for a combination of reasons: the price, the location, the good experience we had with Renaissance in Seattle, Marriott Reward points and, of course, the mostly positive reviews here on Tripadvisor. The location is very good. I wanted to be within walking distance of Central Park, Bryant Park, all the major museums etc-and it was. Although,...

We stayed over Xmas for 8 nights. Location is excellent with easy access to NYC public transportation on 59th and Lexington. We were upgraded from a superior queen to a superior king. With Marriott the wifi was free and due to a special we had breakfast included. Asked for room facing up Lexington Ave but settled on a rear room...

Our family of four enjoyed 6 days in a cozy, clean and well-appointed room—perfectly located on the upper east side. Not too touristy, but with some options nearby. Highly recommend. As for friendly service-- it doesn't get better than the doorman, Pernell, who gave us ideas for traveling, asked about our days, and hugged us as we left for home....

Staying for 4 nights, room ok and functional. Lobby and bar area are too dark , a house wine and a whiskey $30!! Ridiculous prices that spoil the experience, staff nice and friendly, good location for midtown and Central Park . Nice place next door for breakfast and Bloomingdales very close

Always feels a bit odd when you check-in at street level then take elevator up one level to lobby and then a second elevator to room. Found lobby to be quite dark so spent less time there than usual. Room was also quirky - bigger than I had expected (was a corner room) but took me a while to find...

Boutique flavor, quirky here and there. Street level is the check in, then up one floor to the lounge/restaurant, across that lobby to get to the elevators to the guest rooms. One of the older hotels in the area. Reasonably priced. Smaller rooms (compared to others in the area). Service was good. Has all the amenities. Dont expect too much. Need to have a good mix of hotels in the area for all budgets!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
