We live 20 miles North of NYC and wanted a quick getaway and to support the local economy. Upon arrival (4pm) we found out the room we reserved via app check-in was no longer available and had to wait at check-in for 15 minutes. We had spent the day walking the city on a cold day and was ready for a hot shower. Unfortunately we were bumped to a room with no towels and had to wait hours to get the towels at 8pm. The toilet was also clogged but apparently there was no maintenance person working, a security member eventually came with a plunger. Later at bed time we found out the sofa bed didn't have any linens. We tried calling but was constantly put on hold. Frustrated I went to the front desk and spoke with the attendant to find out there was no linens or blankets. After awhile they found some oversized sheets but there was no blankets. I ended up getting a less than restful night of sleep (slightly cold). This was not the experience I had expected. The staff seemed like they wanted to help but were powerless due to poor management.…
We are silver HH members who booked a King Efficiency Studio with Sofabed for 3 people for $108.85 USD per night (inclusive of tax and all fees PLUS free breakfast) about 3 days in advance during all the coronavirus craziness. I think 3 things are critical to a hotel stay so always prioritize reviewing the property location, a good night's rest, and a good morning shower: LOCATION: 4.5/5. Located in the garment district (lost of clothes re-sellers), about a 10 minute walk from either Times Square or Penn Station - exactly perfect for not having to drag your bags very far while also being close to the action and good subway stations. GOOD SLEEP: 5/5 Comfortable bedding, room was quiet, and no issues at all. SHOWER: 4.5/5 Hot water and good pressure. Average toiletries. Nice sized walk in shower with door.....but the door didn't close all the way and the seal was cracked in a few places which resulted in some water leaking out after every shower that needed to be cleaned up.....but I forgot to tell them about the problem, so some of that is my fault too. Other Comments: - FREE coffee and tea and water in the lobby - 2 FREE bottles of water on arrival for our HH status - We arrived VERY early at 9:45 AM for our evening stay and were expecting to just leave our bags BUT they surprised us by going ahead and checking us in AND invited us to grab a bite of what was left at breakfast. - Speaking of breakfast - it is GREAT and FREE. Much more comprehensive and nice than average hotel continental - they had juices, coffees, teas, fruit, oatmeal, pastries, muffins, hot eggs, hot sausage/ meat, potatoes, and some kind of (varied by day) waffle/ pancake/ french toast. This is a huge convenient value in NYC and probably saves you $10-$15 per person. - Complimentary newspaper - Staff were all friendly and helpful. - The hotel lobby is very nice and inviting with nice spaces to hang out and relax near the fireplace. The rooms was fairly modern and in good shape. We had previously stayed right next to Times Square at hotels that probably charge 40% more per night AND now have started charging an extremely insulting $30 per day resort charge for things that are free or unnecessary (land line phone, WIFI, etc).....so this place is a gem. Particularly if you want to split being close to Penn Station and Times Square. We will definitely be back - nice place!!…
First time visiting NY with my family and I have to say that regarding our stay at this Homewood location it made it easier for us to get around the points of interest we wanted to visit like the Statue of liberty, The 9/11 memorial,th Maddison Square Garden, the Brooklyn bridge just name a few. It only took us 5mnts walk to Penn Station if you planning to move around by train its an excellent area. The staff members were very nice and very helpful specially Audreen, at the front desk she went above and beyond to help us with whatever we need it in our 3 nights stay. Rooms are very spacious and clean, breakfast was very good. The only thing that I did not like its their policy of not having houskeeping service unless you stay 5 nights or more. However we did enjoy our stay and will definitely recomend it.…
Stayed One Night,1/7/21 With My Wife For A Birthday Celebration.Great Room W/Kitchenette.Friendly Staff. Affordable Parking Across The Street, Paid $45.00 For Suv For 24 Hours. Unfortunately Homeless Are Staying At Hotel 2 Doors Down And Upon Arrival There Was A Homeless Family Checking In To The Hotel. One Family Member Was Clearly On Drugs And There Was Also A Transvestite Hanging Out In Lobby. Later In The Evening We Went To 22Nd Floor Rooftop Area And There Was A Young Lady Getting High. The Area Surrounding The Hotel Is Sketchy At Best. We Were Told By Staff To Be Careful At Night Walking By The Surrounding Area Of The Hotel. We Did Some Research Later And Found Out That Right Now 20% Of All Manhattan Hotels Are Acting As Homeless Shelters And The Worst Area Is The Midtown Area. More Than Likely This Will Only Get Worse. This Location Is Very Convenient For Hudson Yards And Midtown. The Room Was Excellent, Clean And Modern With Stove, Large Fridge, Microwave And Even Dishwasher. The Staff Is Doing What They Can To Make Your Stay Enjoyable But I Feel They Are Understaffed. Twice The Front Desk Was Unmanned. Its A Shame Because The Hotel Itself Is Very Nice. Not Sure If I Would Return Because Of Safety Issues.…
There are so many factors to consider. Location: convenient to everything, but sucks flooded with drug addicts and homeless persons sketchy AF , but never felt unsafe. Customer service: no issues at all, everyone was nice. Hotel: forget about breakfast unless u arrive at opening, see pics room wasnt terrible. I had to call and ask for towels of which 2x they mentioned they had none and cookware. Towels were extremely cheap. Outside wrapped with crime tap NY day, but hey it’s New York! Overall my needs were met.
