We are a family of four and stayed in the family suite with two double beds on the top floor. The hotel is super close to Penn Station and since we arrived into and departed by train at Penn Station it just made the walk to and from the hotel with our bags very convenient. The room was perfect for our family with the sitting area with sink, fridge and microwave. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even the cleaning staff was so so nice. The hotel has a nice big sitting area on the ground floor where you can sit and eat take out food or just gather with family and friends to lounge and talk. Then in the basement there is a gym and laundry room. Subways uptown and downtown were nearby as well so getting around the city was pretty easy. Overall a nice stay in a very centrally located location to see the city.…
- Lobby was pretty much non-existent and seemed unclean at first glance - Hotel felt like it was built in the 90's rather than 2013 - Elevators were unclean when we checked in. There was an unusual water like substance on the floor of one of the elevators when we checked in - Hotel staff wasn't too welcoming. It felt like I was just a number and they weren't too helpful. Not saying they didn't help us when we requested things like towels or information but I could tell they didn't really want to help or cared. - Housekeeping staff was nice - Hotel rooms and the property in general is poorly designed - Dusty curtains (not a huge issue but for someone with asthma it's inconvenient) - Overall, it's fine for a night or 2 but I wouldn't recommend it for any longer considering there are much better hotels in area for very similar prices such as hotel eventi - Location is the only positive note about the hotel, but I will definitely be staying elsewhere next time…
The room was nice though slightly cramped with twin double beds for four adults. We had pre-requested a room with a city-view but the room had a partial view of a road behind the hotel. When questioned, the staff said this is the best they could offer! The beds were comfortable and the overall upkeep and cleanliness of the room was good. There was no room service and the food had to be ordered from outside. A very unique and peculiar thing was the wash-basin tap in the bathroom. For some strange reason, the tap was positioned on the left side of the basin instead of the center which is the norm. This made it very inconvenient and cumbersome to use it as the hand would invariably hit the tap. The best thing about this hotel is it's location. Most of the popular areas/streets are within a few minutes walking distance. Kevin, from the Front desk, stood out among the staff for being the most courteous and helpful.…
This hotel has a great location for a MSG event. The rooms are dated but to be expected for this price point in New York. The front desk staff was very pleasant. That said they were poorly trained and uncertain what to do with unruly guests. We are titanium members and in the thousands of nights we’ve spent in Marriotts I’ve never felt unsafe. Last night was a first. The room next to us was jammed with people. Music started at 11:30. There were grossly intoxicated people walking in the halls, knocking on our door. Security came up and simply asked to who the room was registered to and to turn the music down. Truthfully, they laughed in his face. By 12:45 we asked to be moved. It required security escort to get to new room. The guard shared that the guests were “going to be evicted,” but it was a few hours too late for that. Security was inadequately trained or perhaps not empowered by Marriott. Next time definitely staying at the Fairfield Inn near Penn Plaza.…
Wife and I visited for a weekend trip to NYC. A good location close to Penn Station, Korea town, the Statue of Liberty, Macy's....and across the street from a police precinct (Traffic control...so not too busy and I heard not a siren). No onsite parking, but they get you a $50 rate at the Icon garage at the end of the block. Room was a bit snug and I was a bit surprised not to have an upgrade based on my status as the hotel did not appear to be busy....we heard nobody on our floor during the stay. Elevators were clean and quick. Room was clean. Bathroom was fine...water pressure on the 12th floor was decent...only complaint was crappy thin towels. Re the room...my only complaint is the small wardrobe and teh fact that there was not a single coat hook in the room (plenty of places to ahve installed some). Did not use the coffee shop/breakfast. Staff was welcoming. I'd certainly use the hotel again. Coffee maker and fridge in teh room...no tea.…
