A great property and conveniently located. Even quiet by NYC standards. But..the main reason I stay at this property and return regularly is the the great staff in particular the groups that serves breakfast each morning. There is not a more pleasant and genuinely outgoing group in any Courtyard property I have stayed in around the country. Carlos and his team as quite simply amazing and one of a kind..

I travel to NYC frequently, and the Courtyard Chelsea is my home away from home. I'. always greeted with smiling faces and a positive attitude. The rooms are big for NYC and clean and well organized. Carlo, Tenzin, and Terry are the BEST! The hottest coffee is ready at 6 am...which is much appreciated. Carlos always greets each guest, remembers everyone, and is in a terrific mood.

This is a very nice, clean, no-frills hotel in the lovely nabe of Chelsea. Walking distance to Penn station, High Line, Whitney, loads of galleries, etc. GREAT staff-- super friendly and responsive. Bigger than average rooms for the area; comfortable bed; speedy elevators; nice art on the wall. No restaurant or bar, minimal freebies, but who needs those when the neighborhood is full of them and the hotel price is right. My biggest beef is terrible lighting in the room and bath. I was able to relocate the desk lamp as a reading light, though. Also, no recycling container. But I will definitely stay here again.

Very close to everything in midtown, 5 minute walk to Penn Station. Clean, great staff, left our luggage after checkout for the day and the gentleman working there was so nice have is a water and key ti use the bathroom. Safe as right across from local police station. Very quiet at night. Will stay again when in NYC.

We’re repeat visitors here. The convenience to Penn Station first brought us here. The warm welcome, professional staff and comfortable rooms kept us coming back. For the few years we’ve been coming here (a few weekends a year), we see the same friendly faces. Having that consistency says a lot about the dedicated team they’ve built. Shadia was there to welcome us this time. A highlight of our stay is having breakfast at the Starbucks Cafe. EVERY TIME we’ve been here, the same three lovely men greet us with smiles, and a “welcome back.” Carlos, Tenzin and Terry are a highlight of our stay. Carlos even remembers our drink order after months away. Thank you for making us feel like we’re coming home…

When staying in New York City, this is my absolute favorite place! The location is fantastic, in bustling Chelsea, close to Penn Station and Grand Central, the New York Public Library, Herald Square, Times Square, and Hudson Yards, it is connected by subway, PATH, and commuter rail to literally the entire city. While a busy neighborhood, the street is surprisingly quiet. Most of the hotel staff has been there for a long time - a very good sign! The staffing fortunately stayed on board all through the pandemic and got the place up and running again, in their customary skillful, personable, and friendly style. Carlos, and Tenzin, and their colleagues at the breakfast place make you really feel home every time you visit. They are my New York City family!

Great location which brings youa few minutes walk to Madison Square Garden, Penn Station and Herald Square. 30th street is itself more quiet than neighboring ones, and this Courtyard offers safe and comfortable lodging. The front desk staff are friendly and attentive.

Overall, the hotel had some pleasant features. Room and hotel are a classic Courtyard--nothing fancy, but solid. Strengths: in hotel breakfast cafe has incredible staff, warm and super attentive. Housekeeping also outstanding! Housekeeper asked us for best time to clean every single day of the 4 days we stayed. Weaknesses: Front desk! Outside of Cesar, who is outstanding and should be recruited to a 5 star hotel and have his pay doubled, the rest were awful. Every day when we returned from our jaunts around the City, we asked the front desk if we could have a couple of the chilled bottle waters behind the counter. At first, there was resistance and heavy attitude. Confusing until it was rudely explained that these bottles were reserved for guests checking in. I see. A guest can come in for one night, get a bottle of water and a guest staying 4 nights cannot get one each day they are there. Bloody hot in NYC btw and we walked in the door clearly overheated. Hmm. Plus, I needed some cleaning done--needed to change to go out again since clothes were sweat soaked. I asked about cleaning and told the clothes would be ready the next day at 10 am. Nope. I went later, no clothes. I get them the next day--the ticket said they would be ready tomorrow (back home yesterday). And a $20 dollar same day charge was tacked on. Btw, I'm Bonvoy elite, so just figure what it is going to be like for you. Biggest jerks ever at the front desk. Not worth it--plenty of hotels in NYC. Better run Courtyards too. Stayed at the one on 40th St and the staff could not have been nicer.
