The rooftop had a really laid back vibe. Our wait time to actually get on the rooftop was about 30-35 minutes... There was a line to get our names on the wait list and then the extra 30-35 mins to actually get to the rooftop... Not sure if it's too worth it however. The place through which you enter the...

If you are looking for a clean hotel with a rude receptionist and a rude female bartender, you have found paradise ! Beware of Karolina! She does not like women who have reservations through trip-advisor. Particularly prepaid ones. Why is such rude behavior going on? Because they don't think women travelers will complain or review. But guess what? We do!

Hello S.D.(Robin) S I am sorry for the unfortunate experience you had with us during your time at Pod 39. Our female staff are very dedicated to there craft and I can assure you that Karolina was doing her best to ensure your check in was efficient. Upon check in, our staff are required to ask our guest to provide...

We were surprised by the tiny nature of the "mini" bunk room but it fit our needs. Other reviewers have noted that the sliding glass door of the bathroom is only partially frosted, but we did not find it to be an issue. As two twenty-something girls visiting NYC for the first time we found the hotel provided us with...

We absolutely loved our stay at Pod39. It has everything we needed for a city break. NYC has so much going on that our room was a haven to rest our weary legs. The roof top bar is fab, great atmosphere, lots of locals stop by for drinks after work. The location excellent. Grand Central Station is only 5 mins...

Pod is the only place I will stay when visiting NYC. The rooms are small, but perfect if you don't need too much room. My room was clean and very comfortable. I love the modern/minimalistic decor. The rooftop bar is awesome with magnificent views. The adjoining restaurant/bar, Salvation Taco, is very cool. If you like to eat early, be sure...

I booked the Pod while passing through NY. it was a very short trip, hence did not spend much time in the hotel. The rooms were clean but quite compact. The location is great, very close to Times square, empire state building and other sites. The bathroom provides no privacy. There is a sliding glass door partially frosted, which is...

Hello Nirmal P Thank you for your recent review, and I appreciate the shout-out to one of our team members. Our rooms are a bit on the intimate side, and I can understand that the shower glass door can provide a bit of a privacy issue. It's the uniqueness of our hotel! I am very glad you got to enjoy...

Pod 39 is in a great location- small street on the quiet side, within walking distance to the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and Bryant Park. The room was impeccably clean. It's important to know that the bathrooms provide zero privacy- it's not an actual room that is closed off from the sleeping space. It's just a sliding glass...

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who literally took a minute or two at most to check us in, it was a very quick and painless experience. During our stay (7 nights) we had no reason to contact reception again as everything in the room was in order and there was no need to bother...

I took my mum to NYC for her birthday earlier this year and booked for us to have a twin room at Pod 39. I know NY fairly well, and the location was good for taking my mum around the tourist attractions, as well as heading off the beaten track a bit. Room was clean, very small and very dark...

Clean, comfortable, convenient, superior customer service, chic, safe neighborhood. Pricey if it wasn't in NYC. but, good deal for NYC especially since I shared expenses w/ a friend. The roof top area is amazing - a bit noisy during lunch and dinner. That's to be expected. No complaints on my end. I'll be back.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
