I booked this hotel as I was traveling by myself and New York is hardly affordable so to find this at a semi decent price with a room and it's own bathroom, I was sold. The rooms are very tiny like European style, which wasn't a big deal to me as all I did was sleep and shower there. Far...

I love the location. Residential and commercial. Great restaurants on every corner with Grand Central a few blocks away. ShakeShack near as well. The room had a nice street view of 40th Street and was very quiet. The bathroom was small as was the room. Sliding glass bathroom doors were interesting but leaves little privacy. Better room with someone you...

Do not expect the Waldorf, but expect clean, small rooms with all you need for a comfortable stay. This is a no-frills hotel, on 39th street just a few doors down from Lexington Ave....an ideal location. It is tailored more for a younger crowd. It has a decent bar/club upstairs and a restaurant on the lobby level. If you are...

I have stayed at pod 39 on three occasions and have never been disappointed . The rooms are immaculate and have everything that you need. The staff are super professional and courteous. The location is ideal within a 5 minute walk to grand central. The rooftop bar is also a great place to visit. I will certainly be staying here...

I stayed in a pod bunk room with my teenage son for 4 nights. It was a little stressful for the relationship due to the tight size. Very modern and clean, Not much privacy with the bathroom. I really liked the neighborhood in East Midtown with lots of great places to eat and a NY Deli on the corner. The...

All you need for a short trip to NYC is a place to crash, and this does the trick, while being clean, nicely designed, and very conveniently located. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My son and I spent two nights here for a 4 day trip (other two nights we stayed near the airport) for his 16th...

Was recommended this hotel and it was ideal with its amenities and position near to Grand Central and walking distance to some attractions. The roof top bar was a bonus and popular as was the bar downstairs. Only slight fault was that my shower was not always as hot as I'd have liked but then I didn't ask to get...

This was my first stay at Pod 39, but my 5th visit to NYC and by far the best hotel I've stayed in. Pod 39 is in a great location close to Grand Central Station, meaning a short 5 minute walk from getting off the Newark Airport Express. Check in was quick and straight forward, though it would have been...

When visiting New York City / Manhattan, you're hardly in the hotel. With that said, Pod 39 was great. Yes, the room was small, smaller than a pod in Japan, but it was clean, trendy, and cozy. Having a bar and restaurant in the lobby is great and the rooftop bar has pretty good views. We stayed here for a...

Room was small, but clean and cozy. The use of space is intelligent and loved the proximity to Grand Central so it was easy to hop on subway, get a cab or Uber. Staff was friendly and I heard from a friend that the rooftop is awesome, but it was raining, so I didn't make it up there.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
