Our family had been planning a trip to NYC for a while, and after doing some research on the Net for places to stay, we were very excited about Stay the Night. The descriptions and pictures posted on the Internet were very compelling and we booked our trip immediately. Don't trust the pictures- our rooms looked nothing like what was...

As a former New Yorker, I used to know of several good "budget" hotels, but it seems that the nicer ones have all gone upscale, with appropriately upscale prices. Needing a place to stay in Manhattan for a few nights I did some research and came across Stay the Night Bed and Breakfast. It turned out to an excellent alternative...

This was the perfect place for us - we booked four big rooms for two families - fincluding five children and Granny! The house is full of character and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were right next to snowy Central Park and all the museums - and at a reasonable rate. We're going to recommend it to all...

My Mother and I stayed in the budget room from 16th Nov 2006 for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The positives - the house is in a wonderful location (you could not beat it - we loved it) and is a beautiful old brownstone. We had the budget room on the top floor overlooking the gardens. The room...

This is such a lovely old house that I'd forgive almost anything. We were welcomed by Frankie who was always polite. We assumed that he was there to look after the place, as we understand that owner does not live on the premises. It is true, as others have said, that there is more than a fine patina of dust...

This place is in dire need of refurbishment--a good cleaning would help tremendously. There was 1/4" of dust on everything--there were huge long dust webs hanging from the very high ceilings--including one right over the bed pillows. I think George Washington slept on this mattress--and the pillows were as ancient as well. I realize this place is "cheap" by NY...

First of all when we arrived at Stay the Night it was to find that no one was there to let us in even though we had forwarded our flight details when confirming the room. After leaving messages on various numbers we had been given after 15 mins someone came to let us in. We then found that the room...

This past weekend my daughter & myself stayed at Stay the Night B&B 93rd E 18th st. NY From the moment I made reservations till I left everything was PERFECT. If I had any questions I e-mailed and Nick the owner got right back to me. The B&B was like living in a dream. Everyone should stay there. It is...

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.

“I have stayed in the Barnes Suite, Fox Suite and Madelleine Suite ~ Rooms at the back are much quieter.”

“Chose a room from the web-site as some face the street and others, the rear of the building. The guest rooms are over several floors reached by one, two or three flights of stairs.”

“We were there in the winter. Heat in the suite comes from always-on old fashioned steam radiators. You titrate the heat in the suite by opening and closing the old windows, and by varying the opening of a skylight in the kitchen area with a long aluminum pole. I got pretty good at it after a few days!”
