I took my husband here for his birthday and we both loved it. So close to great restaurants and nightlife. The concierge didn't give us the best restaurant recommendations. We went to Pastis and it was terrible! Completely overpriced and not good food, at all. We loved the hotel and will definitely be back.

Great venue - we were celebrating my wife's birthday with our 18 and 17 year old kids and my sister. Loved the vibe, the bar, the snooker table - the rooftop bar and pool are awesome on a sunny day - and balmy night! The area is great especially now (September) - very trendy, great people watching and a nice...

My first review! My fiancé booked the hotel for my 30th, the rooms are tiny, the breakfast is the worst I've ever been offered when paying £200 a night, we ve actually gone elsewhere so do not include the breakfast. Pool area is awesome, great views.

Dear Parkycrowe, Thank you for the review. First of all, we hope you had a wonderful birthday despite the issues you had during your hotel experience. We’re disappointed you didn’t enjoy breakfast – our hotel restaurant, The Chester, has been under construction and we are working through the trials and tribulations that come with a newly established business. I attended the Gansevoort to attend a conference. Had not been in Meatpacking district in quite some time...WOW! Things have changed...it is quite the locale..hip and happening place in Manhattan with a European feel due to outdoor cafes (at least in September) and numerous restaurants within walking distance. Great people watching and proximity to all things that make NYC interesting....

Excellent location two blocks from the recently opened highline city park, and surrounded by a multitude of trendy restaurants and shops. The decor is eclectically modern and bright with a hint of kitsch with cowhide rugs in the lobby mingling with moorish stools, a purple pool table and pop art paintings on the walls. The room we had was spacious,...

I love the Meatpacking District of NYC. I forget that I like to stay here but then when I return, I love it. Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
