Only one of 4 elevators is working, and it is too small. waited 20 more minutes to go down, it stopped and make noise in front of my room in the midnight. Room is clear, breakfast is very good, view is great.

Gorgeous views, great beds, awesome location, good value, decent breakfast, decent gym. However, as most people have pointed out, the hotel has about 500 rooms over ~50 floors. But only 4 small elevators, one of which was always down. You have to budget 15 minutes for your ride. I arrived middle of night so didn't realize until the morning how bad it is, and ended up 10 minutes late for my meeting. I also was heading to a wedding the next day and realized when I reached the lobby I forgot something important. I lost 30 minutes due to the lifts. Over 4 nights, I prob spent 2+ hours waiting for elevators. Forget about going down to grab breakfast or for a quick workout before going back to shower - you would need to set aside 45 minutes (15/each way). Once you're lucky to get an elevator, you often stop at 10+ floors and have to tell people there is no room. Further, they use the guest elevators to transport huge bins of dirty (and clean) sheets and towels, so you're crammed in there. The hallways also have shelves of sheets in the middle, so when you figure out which elevator just opened you have to run with your bags around them. If someone were deaf or blind, I can't imagine how they would navigate this. The lifts are not close to one another, constantly chime even if they're not at your floor, and sometimes don't announce when they've arrived on the floor. Too bad nice hotel with good value has a no-go design flaw.

We booked the Hyatt because of the reputation and my personal business experience. We are not disabled but accepted an ADA room. Our ADA roll in shower did not drain properly and flooded both the bathroom and bedroom. We complained to the front desk and their response was unacceptable. Elevators each morning were horrible. After waiting 20+ minutes we had to walk down 17 flights of stairs each morning. We are seniors and will never stay here again!

Stayed here for four nights. The elevator situation makes what could have been a good stay one that caused a great deal of anxiety. The rooms were small but modern, clean and they upgraded me to a higher floor. This "upgrade" ended up making my stay problematic, to say the least. We typically waited between 5 and 15 minutes to get an elevator and once in the elevator during "rush hour" it could take between 5-15 mins to get down to the first floor. Everyone was quite desperate to get onto the elevators and we packed ourselves in. This led to more anxiety about COVID infections with maskless riders. I can't diagnose whatever engineering problem took place but someone made a serious miscalculation whether it is number of guests or with the technology they used. I know no one can prove this but in my four night stay I made sure my "do not disturb" sign was not on my door knob during the day numerous times. MY ROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED. I would come back to the room and the sign was up on my door knob. I have a suspicion the staff just went in and put the sign up in order to avoid cleaning it. I am sure it has something to do with the fact that they had to use the same elevators as guests. There were even towels and sheets right in guest hall ways, where they could get dirty, dusty or touched by guests. Such a shame because its a great, safe location in Chelsea, the breakfast was really good and the staff was friendly.

Rooms are quite small but overall ok and breakfast as well, fruit could be better. All the floors (44) have 12 rooms next to the elevators that make a LOT of noise and when we went, 2 out of 4 were not working at all, we had to get down the stair for breakfast every time from floor 16 since both elevators were crowded and took about 5 minutes each to open and to be super crowded like a subway. Also, for going back to the room was the same mess. Too much pricy for what you get and if all elevators were working I would also recommend not staying due to the noise at night/early morning for the guest. Super crowded for a small hotel

We stayed at Hyatt place for 1 night. The room was clean, the view was amazing and the bed was comfy. Unfortunately this was all overshadowed by the fact that the elevators are atrocious. There was at most 2 working and once there was only 1 that was operating. The wait times for the elevators were so bad that when we checked out we walked down the stairs with our bags from the 31st floor. This place has the makings of a great hotel but elevators working is a base level of service that you need in New York.

We stayed for 2 nights to end our trip and were very impressed with the beautiful views in our room, breakfast could have been a lot better but overall we were happy. The lift also took a very long time to call or get anywhere and was also being used by housekeeping. I do feel that this needs improvement.

I shared a room with my friend on a weekend in New York. We stayed 2 nights and the 2 elevators in the building were not working properly. Our room was on the 31st floor which initially seemed great but we realized we had to wait between 10-15 minutes for the elevator to arrive. The elevators were packed with desperate people trying to get to their floor. It seemed unsafe since there was a sign saying “only four people in the elevator at a time” for Covid safety. Rooms were the smallest we have experienced.

Great stay within my expectations. the room was a decent size, kept clean daily and on the 25th floor with a fantastic view on Downtown, very good. The cleaning team very efficient. Front desk also good. Be prepared for long queues at the lifts and for breakfast at peak time. Gym also acceptable for a hotel workout

I really appreciated the kind staff. Everyone was really nice. The rooms are modern and clean and fresh. They’re small but that’s typical for NYC so they’ll be no different at any hotel. The location is excellent and there was plenty to do right outside the door. The only thing that was a little work to plan around was the slow or busy elevator. It’s a tall building! Just expect to build an extra 10 minutes for that or 15 if you want to be conservative. It was cute that they set up a little graduation photo booth for the families that were here for graduation
