And more to come...It is quiet and relaxing, with stunning water views and impeccable service. The room service meals are excellent, as is the food in the club lounge. We once hosted a family event during a stay, and everything was flawless. This hotel is a gem.

We wanted somewhere affordable to stay out of season and found the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park at a very attractive rate. We only stayed two nights over a weekend and whilst we very much only used the hotel as somewhere to sleep, we were very satisfied with our stay. Our room on the club floor was small but very well equipped....

The Ritz Carlton in Battery Park, NY is all that a Ritz should be.....just perfect! My husband and I visit this Ritz once a year and love to stay in the rooms with the view of the Statue of Liberty. The rooms here are nicely updated and extremely clean. There suits surpass many suits at other Ritz Carlton's.

It was our first time at the Battery Park location. The area is very nice as you can walk out the front door and there is much to see and do in the area. It feels safe and well tended. Subway is close. Nice walkways, gardens, shopping and eating areas and views of the water and boats. Several world class...

My stay at the Ritz-Carlton was overall a good stay. I was greeted after my airport transfer by a bellhop that was nice enough to meet me and take my luggage into the lobby so that I could simply focus on checking in. The check-in process was fairly straightforward but when I entered the lobby they had 2 doorman greet...

Having been let down at the last minute for my first night's accommodation in NYC, I made a frantic call to a contact who pulled strings for me and got me into this stunning hotel for one night. Tucked down the very bottom of Manhattan it's a world away from the crazy crowds and an oasis of calm. I arrived...

I've stayed in this hotel a few times now - great location and usually great service. And of course, super comfortable rooms and beds etc. This stay was marred in spectacular fashion by the service I received on returning to the hotel one evening. Having been out to dinner and kept my key card next to my cell phone I...

I took my father to New York for his first ever visit as a 77th birthday trip. Due to his age I wanted somewhere which was appropriate and this was quite simply an inspired decision. The hotel is perfectly located directly opposite the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We were kindly upgraded as a gift for my father's birthday...

This hotel was a perfect location for us during our recent stay to NYC. We wanted to be close to attractions but not in the hustle and bustle. The service is extraordinary and the staff is amazing! I'll definitely be back to visit soon!

When was the last time you stayed in a hotel where 5 years passed between visits and the bartender recognized you? In addition to being the most luxurious river view hotel in lower Manhattan with incredible views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, the service at the Ritz is unparalleled. The rooms are immaculate and exceptionally well appointed...

Lausanne, Switzerland

Hi all,

I'm a bit up in the air here as to the Battery Park Ritz and figured I might ask a few questions & share a few thoughts.

2 adults, 2 children (3&7) booked into a 1 bedroom liberty view club level suite

I'm a bit worried as to transport times & distance. Out of 5 days in NY I can't imagine we'll be in the Battery park area more than 1 or 2. Cost isn't really an issue compared to a 30 minute trip with a tired & cranky 3 yo. Any young families out there that have tried it out?

How good are the Statue of Liberty views? In some photos they look pretty decent while in others lady liberty looks like an ant out on the horizon. Honestly, the view is the main reason I'd take the Battery Park property over Central Park. We just got back from the Ritz Tokyo & had a wonderful city view from a 53rd floor corner suite. Even if I could find a hotel in NY that commanded such views, I would like to have my daughters remember NY a bit differently (one view overlooking a city is pretty much the same as another to young children right?).

Are there really no coffee machines in the rooms? I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel without an in-room Nespresso or Lavassa machine & this includes smaller 4* boutique hotels. A bit minimalistic for a high end luxury 5* isn't it?

Any truth to a lack of bathroom amenities? I expect 4*s (and lower 5*s) to stock tooth brushes/razors/sewing kits, etc. on property but properties such as the Ritz should have such things in-room & replenish them when used.

How is this property with kids? What in-room amenities were given for the kids (crayons/colouring books/children's soaps/children's toothbrushes/stuffed ritz lion/etc.)?

Better yet... What were the adult 'welcome amenities" (i.e. welcome card & chocolates)?

Thanks in advance.
