After a terrible experience at another hotel close by, we chose the Dylan for its good reviews and affordability. It ended up being the best part of our trip! The modern theme of this boutique hotel does not take away from its comfort with a great layout, space and furniture. Because it was so affordable for NYC, we opted for... More

We stayed at the Dylan for two nights at $289 per night via hotelconnextions.com. It was terrific at that price and hard to come by in NYC these days. The room was small but very clean as was the bathroom. The best part was the quiet. Many hotels can't insulate out the street noise. We didn't hear a thing...in the... More

My husband and I went to NYC for a wedding in September and all the hotels were really expensive since it was the high season. Luckily we found a relatively good deal online for the Dylan hotel, and since it was near the wedding venue, we decided to try it out. The hotel is quite small and close to the... More

we stayed at the Dylan for 3 nigths on a girl getaway. It's in a great location and the staff is very pleasant. But I'm glad we booked through Venere.com and only paid 259$/night. The rack rate was above 500$. The room was a bit worn out, in need of painting and a fresh carpet, but very clean. I'm only... More

For a first trip to NY this hotel was in a perfect location! It's right in the middle of everywhere you want to get to - 5th Ave, Times Square, Rockefeller etc but at the same time is tucked away enough to give a good nights sleep.. no street noise for us - although we were on the back of... More

The Dylan is a well-located, cool hotel w/ beautiful lighting throughout and several other nice features, but the standout reason to recommend it is Liza at the front desk who really makes you feel like you're her personal guest. She's really efficient but also really relaxed and just fun combined with excellent commonsense and fabulous memory. Good thing she seems... More

My Partner and I stayed at the Dylan Hotel and decided to try out the Restaurant before we went to the Bryan Adam's Concert in January 2007. To our surprise we had the best meal ever in our lives, that is if you like Steak that is. We liked it so much we invited my Sister and Her Partner to... More

I met my wife here, who was here on business/pleasure, on a Saturday after she had been here 2 nights already. I stayed only one night. The staff was great. They were courteous, helpful and accommodating. The room was as expected for Manhattan, small. The décor was stylishly modern with really high ceilings. The bathroom was also pretty small with... It was sparkling clean, the rooms were well appointed and very quiet. Since the building used to be the Chemists Club, it was a cute touch to use laboratory beakers as drinking glasses in the bathroom. The location was very convenient and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Dylan Hotel in Manhattan unites tradition and modernity exquisitely and with a contemporary elegance that captivates our guests. The building is very emblematic, first having been the residence of the Welsh writer, Dylan Thomas, and later the headquarters of the New York Pharmacists Club. The Dylan Hotel combines the classical lounges and guest rooms of the period with ambiances and areas in contemporary design. We are a non-stop hotel, because the Big Apple never stops. For this reason, the gym and the business centre are open 24 hours a day. ... more   less
