Having travelled the world during my business career I often sought out small hotels because of the personal touch. Last week in New York I found service in spades at the Hyatt on West 31st Street. This in a 19 story property, but with only eight rooms per floor, as I recall. And the roof top bar has awesome, repeat... More

Great location right in the centre of town and a few mins walk to Penn Station (which means it is very easy to get to/from Newark airport - trains run 24h and take 30 mins). Rooms are nice enough, clean, if a bit dark. Staff were friendly and helpful (although did get a bit confused with our check in, offering... More

The rooms are small ( which is typical for NYC ) but are very clean . The downside of this hotel is that rooms only have showers and I prefer a bathtub with a shower. The rooftop bar is a great place for a drink . The staff is attentive. Raul Duplessi (the doorman who helped with our luggage )went... More

I stayed at the Herald Square Hyatt over the Mother's Day weekend as my mother and I were in Manhattan to see a Broadway show. We found the accommodations to be excellent. The rooms were clean & modern. The amenities were more than sufficient but the highlight of the trip was the professional & attentive nature of every staff member... More

I have stayed several times at Hyatt at Herald Square for a variety of reasons. The staff are great, it is reasonably priced, great location for shopping and convenience. Subways are close and it is the heart of KoreanTown and many delicious Asian restaurants.

We stayed in this hotel to celebrate my Mum's birthday and we couldn't have made a better choice. From the get go, the staff made everyone feel extremely welcome and went out of their way help make my Mum's birthday great. Nico, Carmen, Kathia, Koby, Sarah, Kalin, and I am sorry if I missed anyone, were all fantastic. Five star... More

Wonderful service and location. The staff was very welcoming and curtious. Raul went out of his way to be helpful, and Kathia gave us two breakfast vouchers when there was a slight delay during check-in. Housekeeping service kept the room spotless. The only downside was that the walls were too thin and it was easy to hear other guests in... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
