Reviews summary

The Hilton New York Fashion District hotel receives mixed feedback from its visitors. While the location is highly praised for its convenience, close to subways and dining, the hotel's atmosphere and rooms fall short of guest expectations, with many finding the ambiance uninviting and the accommodations cramped and outdated.
Cleanliness is generally satisfactory, but service reviews range from positive remarks on staff professionalism to frustrations over disorganization. Additionally, travelers often feel that the hotel does not offer good value for the price, despite satisfactory amenities that sometimes suffer from availability issues.

I travel to NYC 8-12 time a year and stay at different hiltons, this hotel had it all. Price was great, breakfast in the lobby and a wonderful roof top bar. Many of the hiltons offer the same but honestly why I will make this Hilton my first choice was the great service I received from Shavonne, checking in can with a smile and picked me a great room and every time i would be coming or going she always had a hello. When traveling for work it’s the little things that make huge difference. Thank you Shavonne, wife and I will be back and 85 percent of the reason is your great customer service.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days at the end of November and start of December and chose it due to the location. The plus side of the location was it’s proximity to many popular places including the Flatiron, The Empire State Building and Macy’s which were all around a 10 minute walk. The downside of the location is that there’s not a great deal immediately outside the hotel or on the nearby streets other than fast food outlets.
We booked the hotel back in January 2019 as we got a good deal and the hotel website boasted a rooftop bar and on site restaurant. When we checked in we were told the rooftop bar was closed for refurbishment and that the restaurant went out of business 3 months ago. This meant there was nowhere on site to get food or drink which we were very disappointed by. The reception desk gave us a sheet of food options to order in but we didn’t take up this option.
The room itself was a decent size but very basic and not what I’d expect from a Hilton. Our view was onto other buildings so we couldn’t see outside properly. There was a bug on the bed and a bug catcher under the radiator which was a bit concerning! However we never saw any other bugs so we chose not to make an issue out of this. The bed itself was comfortable but the duvet didn’t have a proper cover, it was 2 sheets folded round the duvet itself, which became unfolded during the night which was really irritating, and not very pleasant seeing marks on the duvet.
The room was made up daily but sometimes quite late in the day. There were a couple of occasions where we returned to our room around 4pm for a rest before going out again and had to wait for the maid to finish the room. We had to ask for additional drinks one day where they hadn’t been replenished and our final day they had run out of bath towels and we only had hand towels. We always tipped the maid as we appreciate the busy job they have and the time pressures, however it was disappointing that we didn’t always have the items in our room that we should have had.
The reception team were all very helpful and stored our luggage on our last day when we checked out and arranged us a private cab back to the airport that afternoon.
On the whole the location of the hotel was handy, the price we paid was reasonable and the reception staff were courteous, we were just disappointed that the hotel room appeared more of a low budget hotel than we were expecting. We were also unhappy at the lack of food options available at the hotel and felt that because this change had happened since we placed our booking over 10 months previously, we should have been advised prior to our stay either by Expedia or the hotel themselves.
We definitely plan to return to New York again in future however we will be paying more for a more upmarket hotel.

This hotel is extremely dismal The lighting is very poor and the rooms are even more dismal dark blue wallpaper poor lighting looking out onto a factory type building.
Do not book a room here if you are depressed because you will end up feeling more depressed. On the plus side the hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were superb nothing was too much trouble
Ufortunately the restaurant and rooftop bar were closed for refurbishment so I cannot there are plenty of places to eat in the area.
I did not like the area as I thought it was rather grubby but as usual New York was wonderful as were it's people.

Stayed for 2 nights here in January. The room was very clean and good size for New York.
The location is quite good , 1 mile to Times Square and Maddison Square Garden is just 2 minutes walk.
However if you are a Diamond member please avoid this hotel. I think they don’t even know what Diamond member means . No upgrade, no drink vouchers, there is no lounge and you get nothing at all as a Diamond member. Why being a diamond???
Aa their restaurant is closed they gave me breakfast voucher for 12,50 to use in a convenience shop / deli cafe. For 12,50 in new york you get a coffee and a bagel and thats it. Really poor. disappointed as they charge you much more for their breakfast (when the restaurant was open) than 12,50.
One evening I called and asked for a dental kit and the girl at reception told me I have to come down to collect it as there is not enough staff. This is really bad when guests are paying a fair amount of money and also I am a diamond member .
I will never ever use this hotel again. There are hotels around much cheaper that basically provide you the same experience or even better. Its a waste of money.

This was a birthday gift to my 15 year old daughter. She always wanted to see NYC. The room location was horrible the beds was uncomfortable and if I was given any notice of the renovations I would’ve picked a different location. The room was extremely hot because I was told NYC hotels don’t have AC during winter. A bit rediculous because it had cool on the thermostat in the room but oh well. Was given a shower and not a tub it was hard to shower a 2 year old. Just not satisfied with our 7 day’s stay.

The restaurant and roof top bar was under construction and the rooms were basic bottom end rooms that you would expect from a lower hotel chain. The staff was cordial but nothing over the top but it was located near some great restaurants nearby. We utilized our friends hotel as home base as our lobby and room was too small as a meeting location.

While the hotel can't be faulted for its location in a very noisy part of town, the lack of effective soundproofing meant for a long and sleepless night filled with sirens, car horns, trucks backing up, construction equipment (even after midnight), loud car/motorcycle exhaust, garbage trucks, delivery trucks, and people yelling in the streets -- despite my room being on nearly the 20th floor. These "city view" rooms also cost extra to book, and the rooms and hotel itself are rather worn and dated. Rooms are also small and the hotel had relatively few amenities. If all Manhattan hotels were this noisy, I'd give a higher rating, but I've stayed at plenty that, despite the street noise outside, have relatively quiet and comfortable rooms. Apparently the rooms on the backside of the hotel are quieter (and sometimes cheaper), which would have been nice to know when booking, not when checking out. The hotel itself isn't "bad," no one there was unkind, and it surely beats having no hotel at all, but this is not the standard I would expect from a Hilton (or any Hilton chain) hotel.

After escaping the clutches of the Hampton Inn By Hilton Chelsea. I was regimes by Hilton corporate to this property. My arrival was at about 1 am. I arrived and was greeted by name at the front desk. Offered water and my keys. I was told no upgrades were available on such short notice but they had a room for me.
The lobby is very nicely appointed still remnants of Covid precautions remain with plexiglass barriers and such but for the most part pleasant atmosphere.
The standard king room was quite large for a Manhattan hotel and the bathroom very nicely appointed with a large walk-in shower and sink at shaving g height. The room smelled clean and fresh all of the furniture appeared well maintained and every square foot used with intention. The only thing lacking is a place to sit other than the desk.
The bed comfortable the AC and thermostat worked flawlessly keeping the temperature at a comfortable setting was easy compared to my prior accommodations. There are abundant outlets to plug all manner of electronic gear into as well as decent Wi-Fi in the room without upgrading to the premium internet.
There is adequate lighting as well as a minibar (however it is not stocked due to Covid precautions) so there is in fact no refrigerator. There is a coffe maker with Kcups and water in room.
Overall this is a very adequate hotel with a decent staff.

This was a convenient hotel for a fourth of July cruise. It is within walking distance of Pier 62 at Hudson River Park. Though I recommend not taking a cruise from there, no amenities while waiting and in a heavy traffic area. Chelsea Pier cruises are preferable.
The hotel! Stylish, as advertised, sorry I didn't have time to check out the roof top bar. Rooms are small, as expected in NYC. I stay alone, so not an issue. A bit tight for two. Coffee maker, mini-bar, safe. The mini bar contents, are not inviting and you are advised if you "pull flap" you will be charged, therefore, you can't use the fridge. There is a safe, but it's up on a top shelf of a closet, in the dark, so you can't read the instructions. Note to management: Post instructions in a visible place. I would stay there again if I was in that area.

Checked into this hotel on short notice on quick visit to NYC w/daughter. Staff was excellent and helped us get a nice clean comfortable room with two beds. Rooms not huge, but it's NYC!!! Room did have some items missing, like cups and ice buckets mostly related to Covid protocols, but staff would provide any items if requested. Staff provided good information about where to go and what to do, as well as clise by food options. Close to subway stops on 7th Ave at 23rd and 28th streets. Walking distance to the highline, Hudson yards and Times square. Great coffee shop around corner called 7 grams which was a huge plus.
Free in room wifi with decent throughput. The rooftop bar seemed cool though we didn't use it and many of the othe amenities on site. A huge bonus is there is a close self-park option at a reduced daily rate that did not have in and out privileges that we used to park our vehicle.
On checkout day hotel securely checked our bags before we needed to get our car so we didn't have to worry about them on our last day in the city.
Only complaint is the in room fridge was solely dedicated as a paid minibar so could not be used to refridgerate purchased beverages or other items.
We paid less than $200 a night and would highly recommend at that approximate price point. Would highly recommend!

I’ve stayed here twice. We like how it’s close to many of the areas we like to frequent while in NYC. As a Diamond member I would’ve hoped they’d have a lounge, but it’s clear that this wasn’t originally a Hilton hotel. The rooftop bar wouldn’t be right to have open during the winter. There’s another Hilton property I loved adjacent to the UN THAT is really nice
