I stayed there for a whole week at December 2019. The hotel is amazing. The location is perfect, 2’ from metro station, opposite to the hotel there is a supermarket and street food. 10’ from the World Trade Center. Away from Times Square chaos. The breakfast is free and also there is available coffee at reception that I used to take away before the beginning of my adventurous day in NY. The room is small but really comfy and really warm. Staff really nice. I will stay there for sure in the future.
We checked in to the Holiday Inn on Water Street. We were welcomed and checked in by Henry at the front desk. Henry was very knowledgeable and knew the answers to my questions. The hotel was quiet and clean. The workout center was clean and accommodating . I will be staying here again as it is close to a subway and the 911 Memorial is also near by. Thank you for a great visit to NYC!
This is a true example of a Holiday Inn Express is a holiday inn express, it's not the Ritz and as it its perfect for NYC. I do not spend any time my room so I don't need luxury. The rooms are small but very adequate. There is coffee/tea in the lobby. The best part of this hotel is the location.
This hotel is hidden away in the financial district of the city. Nearest subway is Fulton Street about 10 mins walk. Very close to statue of liberty and 9/11 memorial. This small hotel includes a free breakfast and the breakfast is actually quite decent. Fresh pancakes made in front of you with various other pastries. There are only about 5 rooms per floor and the area is a-lot quieter than Manhattan meaning you can actually sleep. Staff were also good. Comfortable and cleans rooms. I would definitely consider staying here again.
If I could give separate star ratings for this hotel I’d give Sonia the breakfast room supervisor top marks. The location is about a 3 (near several subway lines making it easy to get around the city). The hotel has to be a 1. As other reviewers have commented the heating system is very poor. As the heat went on a blast of unpleasant smelling cold air came out for a while before any warm air emerged. I called the front desk the first night to ask about it and the (very unhelpful man) said to turn the heat down a few degrees to avoid the problem. Only problem with that was that it was cold in the room to begin with. I raised the issue the next morning (after a night spent flinching every time I heard the heating unit kick on) with the (much more helpful) women on the desk. They sent an engineer/fixit guy up to my room immediately. He checked everything but explained the system was working as intended so nothing he could do about it. He was helpful, polite and did what he could. The blackout curtains in the room left a gap at the edge so wherever I positioned myself in the bed I had lights from neighbouring buildings shining in my eyes, not helpful for good sleep. Last issue - I asked the unhelpful guy on desk about possibilities for cabs in the area the next morning when I checked out - his response “why would you take a cab, the subway is a few blocks away”. Yes I knew that - however didn’t want to drag my bag up and down subway steps during morning rush hour unless I had to. Not at all helpful of him. All in all a disappointing experience improved only by Sonia and the 2 female front desk staff.…
