I stayed at the Smyth for 7 nights... It was great meeting so many wonderful people. Everything was top notch... the rooms, the cleanliness, the restaurant, the staff, the subway is like 10 steps away... This was my second stay in NYC and it was memorable. Definitely recommended 5 out of 5. Thanks guys for the wonderful stay :)

It's pretty much as described on reviews here and on their website. We had the queen doubles which were more than adequate. Furnishings are beautiful and beds are very comfortable. Only drawbacks were that breakfast was not included (and nor do they offer any discounts for residents in the restaurant downstairs) and the bar is very expensive. Otherwise location is... More

With just the basics - location, room size/comfort and amenities, the Smyth Thompson in Tribeca is a fantastic place to stay while visiting New York. I recently spent a week there and couldn't ask for a better spot. Access to the subway is right outside the front doors and the variety of restaurants, bars and things to see and do... More

Low key and upscale, in a fantastic neighborhood. Close to many bars and restaurants. I loved this hotel because not only for the interior but for the location. I loved that I felt like I was part of the neighborhood, rather than another tourist in Times Sq. Rooms were average size for NYC, and the hotel is also quite small.... More

This place is newish. The rooms are sizable for NYC standard and bed is extremely comfy for my liking. The lounge bar is very cozy. Ground zero is 5mins on foot. Do check out the Whole Foods which is a couple blocks away. It is amazing! Staffs at the hotel are very friendly. This hotel is really close to everything... More

I stayed with my husband and son in the Smyth Hotel for four nights. We have been there a couple of times before, so needless to say we really like this hotel. The staff is great and very friendly. The hotel room and beds are perfect and I really like the design of the rooms and the hotel. Feels a... More

My group had an amazing time in this upscale, clean hotel. The location in Tribecca is perfect being steps away from a subway station & a close walk to desirable locations such as SoHo. As well, Eddie the concierge was extremely accommodating and helped make our trip a ton of fun!! 5 star service & 5 star location.

The hotel is ina quite location, the beds are super comfortable, the restaurants is excellent farm to table cuisine, and everyone at the front desk/door are very nice and helpful. They could use a concierge and a Nespresso maker in the rooms. If you are going to the upper Manhattan a lot then prepare for the traffic and the added... More

We really enjoyed our weekend stay in this spacious, well-appointed dog-friendly hotel! Often the dog-friendly rooms are not so human friendly. Not the case with Smyth. Everything is new and shiney. Great design. Really comfortable beds. Large room and bathroom. And this was the dog-friendly room! Plus the staff were completely accommodating to our older labrador and a mix up... More

The hotel is located on a relatively quiet street (for NYC) in the heart of TriBeCa, with a subway station right out front. The hotel bar is warm/cozy with two gas-fired fireplaces surrounded by comfy seating. Within a 10 minute walk you can get to the Freedom Tower, SoHo, Wall Street, and the Hudson River. Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
