I really want to leave a good review for this hotel. It’s a great value, in a good location for access to various subway lines and the rooms are clean and comfortable. HOWEVER. The staff leaves something to be desired. I sent dry cleaning out through the hotel for next day service, and 5 DAYS later it’s not back. The staff doesn’t know where it is and each evening when I ask about it the staff passes the responsibility for taking any action whatsoever to the team arriving in the morning. I gave 2 stars, rather than 1 because as long as you don’t need to use any hotel services at all, you’ll probably be OK.
I have no idea how this place would ever get 4.4 stars. I get to the hotel tonight and there are two people out front smoking so much weed that I got a contact high coming through the door. The front door was particularly of note because it had two pieces of paper taped to them advising guest to use their key card to enter. You can do better. Only one person at the front desk when I arrived, and I was third in line. Of course, the moment I was the only person at the desk, two other employees appear out of thin air. The lobby was filthy. One of those three should have been running a vacuum and dusting, or even restocking the store would have been nice. There was no note on my corporate booking site that housekeeping service was only every other day, or I would have stayed at my normal Marriott for the same money, was just curious to try something different. The glass in the elevator is broken, a nice touch getting to your room. This is a further mistake since the room is pretty run down, got a third floor as a Titanium member (almost an Ambassador), and worst of all the AC isn’t working. Great way to be welcomed after a day of work travel. If you are a business traveler, avoid at all costs. I just got here 30 minutes ago, so I’m pretty nervous about what the rest of the week has in store for me.…
I checked into my room and the toilet was uncleaned (hair etc. remaining) and the desk areas had residual stains on them that I had to wipe off... would not recommend staying here. I'm a platinum member as well. When I called the front desk, all they offered was to send someone up to clean it again or to switch rooms. Would not stay here again.
Room great for base. Service at desk not very good almost rude while looking gif details on transport to airport. Bar only open Monday to Friday 5-12am! Told us to take “black car” to airport and driver was playing Spanish music very loud and constantly looking at phone. Toilets in bar area were not serviced well and only one of 3 was open. Had a fire drill at 1am one night but communication on was happening was terrible. Told to remain in our rooms with 5 fire trucks outside the hotel.
As a travel consultant, I have traveled to many hotels in NYC for property visits and leisure stays. I usually like to stay in Midtown or SoHo but actually really enjoyed staying near the Financial District and Seaport this time around. The hotel is seemingly brand new and appeals to a more modern traveler. While this property is technically a Select Property in Marriotts portfolio, it honestly rivaled some of the JW’s I’ve stayed at. Front desk staff were beyond friendly and welcoming. The room was huge for the city and the bathroom was even more exceptional. I loved the rainfall shower head and black tiled walls. A mini fridge is stocked with waters and the beds are very comfy. What more could you ask for? If you are traveling for business or visiting friends in the area, stay here. It is not touristy at all and the hotel is incredible. Note that breakfast is not included and there is unfortunately no rooftop. Loved this hotel and will be recommending it to all my clients and business partners.…
As a Marriot Bonvoy member I appreciated the early check-in, the upgrade to a corner room on the 29th floor, and the late check out. I have stayed at many hotels in NYC and this hotel is my favorite. I loved everything about the room- the rainfall shower, the fridge, the TV and the bed. OMG the bed was so comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The only minor issue is that it is about a 10 min walk to the subway. I recommend sticking to Fulton St when returning late at night. I look forward to returning.
This hotel (that I booked with points) was absolutely wonderful. It had one of the lower redemption rates and that’s specifically why I booked it for my last two nights in the city. They let me check in early and gave me an upgrade to the 21st floor with a great view of the east river and downtown. Check in was simple and the room seemed brand new with a really comfy bed and was very nicely appointed. The bathroom, while small, did the trick just fine. My bathroom only had a shower, which I’m getting used to with new construction hotels. I had breakfast one morning in the restaurant and it was a really nice buffet with hot items you could order from your server. I think it was around $25 plus tip. I was nervous about getting a cab to LaGuardia on my day of departure (cabs are more scarce now post Covid) but the front desk assured me that they could call one when I was leaving and, sure enough, they did. I wasn’t as crazy about the area as I am about other areas in Manhattan, as it’s on the east side of the financial district and it’s mostly just tall office buildings. I was able to find a couple of pizza stands nearby and also a Chipotle. There is a small market next to the front desk and I was able to buy a few sodas there. Everyone was very friendly and I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to be in this area.…
Not a good experience from the second you pull up . No one to help you with your bags . No one to greet you in any way. No Valet parking you get bad directions to drive blocks away to a parking garage in which I arrive there and was told it's full. A $50 bribe and there was room for me. Then the long walk back in the rain to the hotel. No one offers to bring your luggage up . Get to the room and tv not working and can not be fixed. The room is the smallest I've seen in many years. Given the $780 a night you would think it would be bigger then my closet at home. Bathroom actually too small for one person forget two. No room service at all. Place is really an expensive joke. Go to Ritz Carlton it's $200 more but it's a real hotel
AC Hotels Downtown did not honor my accessibility room type, even though it was confirmed guaranteed upon booking and at mobile check-in. Front desk only said none were available. No compensation was offered. I don't even expect upgrades based on my loyalty status, but Bonvoy status is worthless if the hotel fails to honor their most basic guarantee. Bonvoy Platinum Member
I stayed here for a night while I was in town on business. The room was clean and modern. The location was convenient to activities that I was interested in downtown. The room was quite small which is expected in NYC. The staff was very friencly and helpful.
