My sisters and I traveled to NY to see Michael Ball and Alfie Bow in concert. Our trip was "on the cheap". We traveled by bus to NY, stayed at a inexpensive hotel for one night only and traveled home by bus the following day. Hotel 31 is no doubt an older building, small and does not have the normal...

The 31 offers a variety of types of rooms an situations for all travelers. We chose a room with 2 beds and private bath. Small but efficient and clean, close to everything and helpful front desk people made this a great stay.

When booking my holiday, I wanted to stay somewhere that didn't break the bank. Hotel 31 ticked all the boxes. Only a short walk to Herald Square where you will find Macys and only another 8 blocks from there is Time Square. Even better is its handy to the Empire State Building and my Favourite Rooftop Bar 230 Fifth. The...

Very friendly, very clean! Arrived hours before check-in and had no issue. Walls are extremely thin, fortunately I had quiet neighbors my whole stay. Also, I don't believe my room had a heater but luckily I didn't need one. Location worked out perfectly for my needs. Wouldn't hesitate to book another stay here.

My Son had dreamt of visiting Manhattan for years. I kept promising we would go and finally surprised him for his 15th birthday. Key to our adventure, Hotel 31 had easy access to landmarks such as Grand Central Station, and most importantly, the Empire State Building. We were not disappointed. We literally walked out the door, down the block, across...

This is a fine spot. Clean, friendly, comfy. The bedspread was a bit worn and the rooms are small but that was not a problem for us. We are used to tiny hotel rooms in Europe. One warning, if you are very large or obese you may not want a room with a private bath. In order toget to the...

A great experience. Hotel 31 is a short easy walk from Penn Station and a great location for lower manhattan sight seeing. We found it very clean and quiet - we had an inner room. Would stay there again.

We are a family of 4, with kids of 11and 13. We stayed a room with 2 double beds and a private bathroom. It was not a large room, bur not cramped either. All the varnished wood trims give the entire place a lot of charm. Location is great, close to everything; subway, grand central, empire state. Service is friendly...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
