Firstly, I have to say that the location of this hotel is very good. Walking distance from Central Park and very close to both 51st & 59th Street subway stations...those two stations get you to so many different parts of the City. Unfortunately, that was pretty much the only positive with this hotel, which actually has all the standards that...

Dear Owen, We appreciate you taking some time to leave us such detailed review. I agree that our location is very good as you can reach any part of the city either by walking or public transportation which is nearby. I also see that we fell short in many aspects during your stay. I have read your comments carefully and...

Hotel Carvi on East 55th St is a great place to stay for a few days while visiting NYC. Situated within walking distance of many of the Midtown sights including Grand Central, Times Square, Rockafella centre, Central Park and the shops of 5th Avenue. Staff on reception very friendly and eager to advise. No breakfast in hotel though Midtown Diner...

The location is excellent as it is a short walk to the nearest subway station and plenty of shops and restaurants etc on 3rd Av. The roof top terrace is a nice touch, as the hotel does not have a bar we were able to bring our own drinks and sit outside, although a bit cold in November! The bed...

Dear Kellylovesbagels, Thank you for the lovely review and 5*rating! I see that despite being a bit cooler in November you still ventured out and explored the city. So glad that you found our beds comfortable and the room quiet, it's the best condition for a good nights rest. We hope you come stay with us on a return visit...

This hotel worked out well for me. I requested a quiet room and was pleasantly surprised! 702 was very quiet...but no one was using the roof top patio given the time of year. The room was a good size for NYC. Lighting wasn't great but otherwise the room is fine, beds were comfortable etc. The roof top patio looks very...

Dear ekhand, We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the room and found it quiet. After a long day sightseeing or working it is what we need for a good night's rest. Our rooftop still gets many visitors throughout the day but they only linger if the weather is pleasant. We hope you had a good return trip home...

The rooms are small, the staff indifferent, the services and amenities minimal and the HVAC system incredibly noisy. This is not my knid of place. You can do much better for the price - even in mid-town Manhattan!

I would whole heartedly recommend the Carvi. We travelled as a family of 3, 2 adults and a teenager. The hotel is clean and modern. We had a good size room with 2 double beds. The room had a clean and well lit bathroom. We had bath robes provided and plenty of towels. There is also a mini fridge with...

I stayed only one night for a business trip. I wanted a place that was a short walk to my client's office in midtown Manhattan, and the Carvi hotel was very convenient. The front desk staff was pleasant and professional, the room (one king bed) was a comfortable size -- neither cramped nor spacious, with a good-sized bathroom and ample...

A whirlwind weekend girls' trip found us at the Carvi hotel. I am a huge fan of boutique hotel chains and wanted to give this one a try. It was inconspicuous and not far from the E train or Central Park. It was pretty quiet considering it is NYC, and we didn't hear our next door or floor-above neighbors. The...

We arrived and requested an upper floor with lots of light. We were told that the room we had did not have any windows. I thought that was illegal as it is a fire safety issue, but was told that they can put us in a windowless room. They offered us a room with a window for an additional $60....

Great hotel with friendly staff. The location of the hotel is excellent; it's within easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and shopping! The room (and the bed) was very comfortable. The hotel has a nice rooftop sitting area.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

“My room did not have a view and looked out at the very close next door building. I didn't mind this as I was only there at night and I liked being off the street (for the noise!) but this might not be to everyone's liking (also makes it dark in the room) so you might want to ask about your room location. ”
