This was a really unique hotel. Charm of another era. Im so glad I had my first New York visit staying at this hotel. It was centrally located to everything. The rooms were quite smaller than what we are used to but the beds were very comfortable. Just accross the street there was this large store that offered all of...

Just got back from 5 days in NYC with my wife and son. What a fantastic hotel this is, it has it all, comfortable, clean, friendly staff and location. Jeanette on the front desk upgraded our room as it was my birthday to 32nd floor and oh what a view, looking down on 34th St and straight at the Empire...

For your money, The New Yorker is a great bet in New York city. The building has a certain charm and the staff are excellent. As with most hotels in NY, the rooms are tight, but not bad. The gym is one of the better ones in any hotel I have stayed in. Had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast...

Have stayed at New Yorker many times and will do so again in the future. Brings back good memories of childhood with the old bath fixtures, solid wood doors, cast iron staircases, etc. The art deco style is a throw-back to the big band era, a time when life was a bit simpler and more pleasant. The adjoining Tick Tock...

This old and beautiful hotel is being restored to her former glory. Rooms are being very nicely remodeled and room rates are reasonable. There are remodeling issues and inconveniences but when it is done it will be really great. We stayed in a remodeled room on the 8th floor which was small but very nicely appointed.

We had a wonderful stay . The hotel is close to everything . 2 min to Maddiison Square Gardens , 5 min walk to Macy's , 3 blocks to the Empire State Building . Staff very helpful . Great price for downtown NY . We stayed in a one bedroom suite . Loved the living room with pullout . (...

Staff manager was really rude and bathrooms unrenivated despite the advertising saying otherwise. No fridge or mini bar and no room service, not even tea coffee making facilities so can't possibly be 4 stars. Had problem with checking in that the hotel later blamed us and made us move rooms. Treated us like backpackers

We have returned today from a 5 night stay at the New Yorker. The location is just perfect and it suited our purpose. But the hotel itself does need some serious maintenance . We loved the idea of not being in a 5 star modern glass hotel that we can stay In anywhere in the world. This Art Deco hotel...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
