My husband and I used to live in NY in the west village before moving to Montreal. We were trying to get a hotel in NY that week but we could not ding anything reasonably priced. I found this place here and I email them and got a response right away. Very nice and big rooms, old but very clean.... More

Second visit to New York and really enjoyed stay here. Location is fantastic, staff amazing and accommodation has character and very homely. Lots to do in surrounding area, which is not overly busy like times square, however if you really want to torture yourself in times square only $10 in taxi. The area is much more tranquil right at the... More

I have just returned from staying at the Incentra Village House for a week and have to say it is the best place I have ever stayed in, it really made my first visit to New York so special. A true hidden gem. The location was fantastic with the best of both worlds on the doorstep. The staff went out... More

Just returned from a weeks stay which was amazing. Couldn't ask for a better location and fell in love with each and every one of the rooms. All the staff were amazing and so incredibly friendly with nothing too much trouble. Geoff is also an awesome photographer so don't forget to buy some of his amazing pictures although would have... Incentra Village is beautiful quirky guest house run by fantastic, funny, caring people. I really hope I am able to return. I stayed in the Stable Room, which was like having my own apartment in the picturesque West Village. Really enjoyed our parties on the step with Vincent et al - found the Korean song Vincent - we really should... More

Stayed here in July and in September. I love this place. It's run as a trust not some faceless multi whatever. I stayed in both Garden and Stonewall rooms. I now wish to try them all over a course of a lifetime. This American and in particular, NY heritage place is looked after by unassuming and caring staff. Rooms are... More

Just got back from a three night stay at Incentra, and can honestly say it's the best time I've had and best place I've stayed in the city. The location is ideal-- close to many different subway stops and walkable to everything downtown. Not to mention how charming just the surrounding block is! Eighth Ave is noisy at night, but... Enjoyed our stay at the Incentra Village House. We were given the Stable Room which has alot of character. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. What a great location...right in the Village and close to Metro lines. Our room faced 8th ave however was relatively quiet...room well insulated. Why not excellent? Coffee makers are provided however there is... More

This is right on the edge of Greenwich Village. Its clean, fun and slightly quirky place, but excellent value for Manhattan. My room was two floors below ground, yes its possible. It was stinking hot in NYC that week, so quite a good place to be until it rained very heavily and the room had a minor flood. All cleared... More

This is a nice place in a great location. It's got personality, like the rest of the neighborhood, and that's a refreshing change from corporate cubicle hotels (if you're into that). But the best part is the personal service. My girlfriend and I arrived at 10 AM on a rainy Friday morning after a sleepless red-eye flight; since check-in isn't... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
