I never write reviews, but had to acknowledge the people at HGI 35th St who consistently make my stay such a positive experience. First, for breakfast in the City, this is the tops! Chef Luis is a pro, he remembers what I like and makes my omelet or other eggs exactly how I like them. Great guy! Nice fresh fruit,...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

I stayed here for work and knew that hotel was TOO old as I've dined at the next door korean restaurant several years ago when the hotel was being built. The price isn't too bad for the location. It's midtown and you can get to just about everywhere in Manhattan very easily. It's also right next to metro station 34th...

I arrived at 7 am after travelling all the way from Virginia Beach and tried to check in but unfortunately, there is no available room (I understood). But the front desk lady was kind enough to put me in room wait list and take care of my luggage. I was finally checked in around 12:30 pm. The room was small...

I was searching for a hotel, that was decent price range and located in the heart of the city. The location was perfect and we even had a view of the Empire State Building. New York is busy and noisy but the hotel was quiet. My impression about the staff was mixed. We have people who were kind, helpful and...

the location is perfect for new your travelers, with nearby underground station therooms are small and typical NY decoration. be awere that there are only 3 elevators serving the entire hotel and waiting time for them in the mornings is unreasonable.

The location is key! Next to the Empire State Building, on Fifth Avenue, and within a couple minutes walking of Time Square. The price was good too and the breakfast was great. This is a good hotel but my only gripe is that the rooms are very small.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

The room are not to small. I booked for a city view and requested an upper level floor. We not only got the 29th floor but a corner room with a view of the Empire State Building. Always ask.

Hi Jean H,

Welcome and we are looking forward to hosting you at HGI35! If you are able to contact the hotel directly, we would be happy to assign a room on a higher floor and if you email me directly with the first and last name on the reservation, I will happily ensure you receive a view of the Empire State Building at no additional charge :)

I would think so, they weren't very cramped rooms fairly spacious considering it was New York.
