It was a small hotel with tiny rooms. It was supposed to sleep four but we would have struggled with even three. It is very close to davit centre and that would be the only reason i would stay there. Clean and very friendly staff .

The event we were attending was quite near this hotel and that was a big plus. The bed was the biggest part of the room; and with two people in the room, you have to coordinate your movement. The bathroom was normal size and very clean. The folks working the desk were all helpful, but it was obvious that some...

The Gem is an amazing small hotel that has all you need for a holiday in Manhattan. The rooms are spotless, the beds and cushions ensure a good night sleep. Great shower/bath again spotlessly clean The in room coffee machine and fridge enable you to have a good in room breakfast or snack Lawrence the manager is always available for...

No real amenities, but clean and quiet and good location, and there were King beds, which not every hotel offers in that area. No worries about the neighborhood. It was a little under a 15 minute walk to the theater on 45th street where we saw a show.

Not good, not bad, decent. Within walking distance to the Javits -- a couple of blocks. Rooms are tiny, but that's expected it's New York. Just start walking east and you'll find what you want........

The hotel has a great location, close to Javits, MSG, Empire State Bldg, Times Square, etc. And the price couldn't be beat. The only downside (besides the expected small room) was service. The maid came sporadically, not at all the last day. And they tried to charge me for the safe, which I didn't use. It was up to me...

New York is always a special case because, like apartments in NYC, you don't get much for your money. That said: the room was clean and comfortable, if not small. The staff was friendly and helpful and it's convenient to Penn Station, Megabus/Boltbus drop offs, and the theater district. The room we were in was on the first floor very...

I stayed here over NYCC weekend. It's most redeeming quality is its proximity to the Javits, as well as the parking lot affiliated with the property, where I received a great deal on parking for the convention. My room was very small and close to the lobby so I could hear everything outside. Everything was clean when I arrived, but...

This is a basic room in NYC. Clean, friendly staff, noise was minimal (considering you're in NYC, you will hear things, but I'm a deep sleeper). An easy to walk to Javitz. Shampoo and bath gel dispensers in the bath, so less disposable toiletry trash to throw away. Duane Reade right around the corner and a deli shop with an...

We recently stayed at the Gem while attending a wedding in NYC. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful - they went out of their way to look up the address of a store I wanted to visit and to make restaurant suggestions. The room was clean and comfortable but very small - I guess that is New York...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
