This really has everything you'd want in an urban B & B. I had the "Canopy room" named after the large and comfy canopy bed; even though it faced 23rd st., noise was not a problem--thick windows I guess, and the hum of the (easily adjusted) AC, Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated with a mixture of antiques and nice reproductions, wi-fi...

My wife and two kids stayed at The Inn this past weekend. Because of the good reviews we decided to initiate contact via e-mail. The quick response from Thomas was a sign of their dedicated service. A room for 4? Done. A change of plans after we had already booked? Done. The location is excellent for both walking and accessing...

A very good mixture of family style B&B and comfortable hotel. Arriving in the middle of the night we were welcomed in a very friendly way by Miss Dorothy (the Inn cat) on night duty. We felt at home from the very beginning and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All rooms are different and have there own character....

Had to make a late booking for a hotel in NY so mny of the budget hotels were full, but luckily there was room in the Inn! I am quite fussy about where I sleep. I don't mind the size of the room but it must be clean, have it's own bathroom, be quiet, have free wi-fi and in a...

We wanted to stay in Chelsea to check out the High Line Park and celebrate our 12th anniversary. We couldn't be happier with The Inn on 23rd. It is well located and the amenities were perfect. Our room, The Maritime Room, was the one we had originally requested. Even though they can't guarantee which room you'll get, the staff was...

What a great place to stay in New York, far enough away from the frenetic crowds of Times Square but still well located in Chelsea. Access to everything is easy in a few stops on the Subway (the subway is close, the trains efficient and frequent) or walking distance to other Manhattan locations, including the Village and the Meatpacking and...

The staff create a friendly, homey atmosphere. Room was comfortable, not too special, setting for breakfast -a large, sunlit room-good food, friendly guests.

We always stay at The Inn at 23rd whenever we are in NYC. You step inside its doors and the hustle and bustle of the city give way to a quiet, lovely B&B with personal touches and attention. Each room is distinctive; I believe there are 12 in total. Breakfast is a most pleasant affair and a lovely way to...

My wife and I visited NYC recently and decided to deviate from our usual hotel locations, which have always been around uptown/the upper east side of Manhattan. As we wanted to explore other areas of the great city of NY, we were searching for somewhere around mid-town/Chelsea. We read the Trip Advisor reviews of the Inn on 23rd and were...

. We stayed in the canopy room which was quiet and pleasant. our stay was a saturday night and was quiet for sleeping, the city may never sleep but sunday morning does tend to be calm. 23rd is a two way cross city street and not a quiet tree lined brownstone st. so other mornings will be different. The Canopy...

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.

“Don't book a room at this hotel.”
  • Broken furniture (or maybe dumpster dive
  • We're not FANS of dust build-up (enjoy the snow machine)
  • Welcome to your suite (don't bother covering this one up with the faux sheep skin)
  • SHOKINGLY horrendous (Don't like the clanking radiator? But still want heat?)
  • Just gross (carpet everywhere looked like this)
  • Torn blankets (or, another dumpster dive score?)
  • Carpeted lights? Carpeted with dust, that is.
  • Thought we would be looking at a painting, not a carving
