We stayed in this quiet little secret for 10 days last October. Such a great location, very close to subways, restaurants, markets and parks. The hosts were gracious and there was absolutely nothing missing that we would have needed. It was clean and comfortable and quaint. We plan on being back next year.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable eight-night stay at Greenwich Village Habitué. The accommodation was warm, comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. The location was excellent, being close to the subway, Highline and lots of great places to eat. We particularly enjoyed coffee and crepes at the Gansevoort Markets. Our hosts were easy to communicate with via email and Kevin warmly welcomed...

After having our 7 night booking cancelled by a nom legitimate guesthouse it was a relief to find a legal apartment rental in new york ( stays under 30 days in aparments are illegal unless they are owner occupied) It was more that we wanted to pay at $200 a night but it was either hostel sharing bathrooms or double...

My husband and I had the pleasure of renting an apartment from Matt and Kevin in August this year. The apartments were recommended to us by our friends who have stayed here many many times and I now totally understand why they wouldn't stay anywhere else. The apartment is situated on a leafy street in the meat packing district and is...

Our first experience of New York and advice from friends was "don't expect space or value for money if you stay on Manhatten". Well I'm pleased to say in Matt and Kevin's GV habitué we found both, along with a glorious helping of charm, comfort and hospitality, to say nothing of the location, which was perfect for 'doing' New York....

This is the second time I have stayed at Kevin and Matt's B&B and I love it. The apartment is spacious, quirky, private and clean (courtesy of Ray who is always great to chat to). The location is excellent! You are the near shops in the Meatpacking District, Bleeker Street and Chelsea Market. As a Melbournite I always need a...

We've been to NYC several times and have done our fair share of time at the Hiltons, Holiday Inns, Wyndhams, Dream, Parker Meridian etc. They've all been fine - did what they were supposed to do - provide a bed to use while rushing from tourist attraction to tourist attraction. Now that we've seen many of the sights - we...

My husband and I recently stayed at apartment 2 for a weeks holiday in New York. Ideally situated near the metro, plenty of taxis, loads of restaurants and bars close by and a corner shop at the end of the road. The apartment is in a lovely old brownstone building, the street looks like a film set. The owners were...

My wife and I spent 5 nights in this lovely apartment. Kevin met us upon arrival and was very helpful in telling us about the area. The apartment is right in the West Village in a cool and funky area. Many restaurants nearby, not to mention the Highline and Hudson River. We were happy to walk up town to Times...

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
