Stayed for 3 nights, and from start to finish, we received amazing service. Jeff, upon our check in, made us feel very welcomed. Everyone working there was very pleasant and greeted us with a smile throughout our stay.
Room was clean and smelled clean, and modern. There was a fridge, a Keurig Coffee machine, and an in room safe.
Location was great too. It's around 15 minutes walk to Times Square, Bryant Park, and Broadway. You can walk to many locations the city has to offer. Won't hesitate to stay again.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza HY36 Midtown for 4 nights and had the most loveliest experience.
From the minute we walked in we received the warmest welcome from the front desk agent Elisha. We were early for our check in but Elisha managed to allow us to check in early which really helped because we just came off of a red eye flight. She took the time to get to know me during our short time when she was checking me in and she found out it was my birthday trip. She even wrote a hand written card and sent it to my room with a treat after!
Customer service was top notch and this also extended to their housekeeping as well. Not only was the room spotless but the housekeeping staff always left a little note on the bed stand which I always looked forward to when I came back to the hotel at night.
The physical aspect of the hotel is amazing - the location, the design, the overall feel of the property but this hotel set themselves apart because of their friendliest most professional staff I’ve ever encountered. Thank you so much for making my first trip to New York a fantastic experience! I will be sure to recommend your property and come back soon!

We made our first trip to New York post pandemic to celebrate our son’s Birthday with other relatives in the city. We were all vaccinated.
In looking for a Hotel, we decided to skip our usual Crowne Plaza in Times Square for one closer to my son’s location and found the Crowne Plaza Midtown, literally 4 blocks from Penn Station on 36th street.
I read great reviews from guests and reached out to the GM John Beck to arrange a room for us. Mr. Beck kept in continuous contact with me for 2 weeks prior, ensuring our requests for a nice room (we are IHG members), no room service and arranging for supplies to be left in our room.
As out of state guests, we filled out our NYC forms that state no quarantine required and sent to the Hotel. There are no longer checks at Penn Station but we carried our vaccine cards just in case.
On arrival (5-7 minutes’ walk), we were checked in with Carolyn (we saw temperature checks with staff) who saw us to the elevator and explained how to use the key cards. She was very pleasant throughout, even finding us an umbrella when it was raining.
Our room as a corner room and decently spacious for a mid-size Crowne Plaza. As Platinum Members we received a really generous gift from GM Beck for which I thanked him every time we saw him. All the essentials we had requested were in the room
Social distancing and masks throughout our stay and we never felt any issues coming or going (tip if going downtown, walk over to 9th Avenue and catch a cab ). The gym on the 6th floor was AWESOME and I was the sole person during my stay. Large, with everything as pictures will show.
The restaurant was closed of course but within walking distance (Mr. Beck or staff will help) are great places for breakfast and of course we had reservations for dinner.
GM Beck was awesome throughout our stay (and his staff). This GM is a hands-on GM, working the front desk and it seemed constantly working while providing excellent service to guests. One of the best Managers I have come across, visible and available.
I consider this a hidden jewel among the numerous Hotels in the area and a definite recommend for future stays. IHG members looking to earn and use points, don’t overlook and for other guests, join IHG and stay at this property.

We selected this hotel because of its location in central Manhattan. You can easily walk to Penn station (subway), Time Square and Broadway. We arrived in EWR airport, and took a taxi to the hotel. Going back, we took a non-stop bus from Penn station to the airport for half the price - and same comfort (cost is based on three passengers). The hotel is nice, we had our room on a higher floor, something I recommend to avoid traffic noise (and there is a lot of that in NY!). The room was clean, bathroom is very nice with a good shower and decent towels. The double beds are rather narrow for two people, but the mattress and pillows are great. We booked the room including breakfast. To our disappointment, no buffer is offered. The menu choices are limited and typical American style (pancakes, eggs,...). We ordered French toast and eggs, and the amount was huge. We also asked for fruit and yoghurt, and this was huge as well! Note that these items are not on the menu. Next day, we ordered toast (not on the menu either!). What is remarkable and worth mentioning: the breakfast coupon covers the entire breakfast - not like I've experienced in other hotels a basic breakfast item, and all the rest is extra. (to be clear, tips are not included).

My family and I came up to see the Knicks and Heat play this past weekend. We picked the hotel because it was close to the arena while also being close to everything else. We were close to Times Square and all sorts of shops! The walking score is a 15 out of 10! It's close to a lot of things. We got to the hotel early and Chris checked us in to 3 of our 5 rooms that were already available. The check in area was well appointed as was the sitting area in the back to relax and get off your feet. The rooms were very nice and the shower was incredible with great pressure and came with a secondary, removable shower head. The bed was extremely comfortable and the addt'l chair next to the desk (which had its own chair) was great to have one or two of our family come in without having to sit on our bed. The liquor store was off 9th between 36th & 37th as well as a nice grocery spot across from the liquor store to pick up waters and I had to buy the strawberries because they looked delicious. If you want to take a Lyft from the hotel to Times Square because you don't feel like walking, it's roughly $15-$20. The fridge in the room was great! I could fit a half liter of Ciroc, cranberry juice and two 1 liter water bottles in there. The restaurant in the front of the hotel is nice and pricing is what you'd expect from a hotel restaurant. We had breakfast on Saturday with a group of 6 and the waiter was okay. He couldn't get charges correct and cleared the table without even asking if my wife wanted the rest of her muffin (which she was saving for later). Nice spot, just not the best service. Hotel was a great spot to stay and very comfortable. Will definitely stay if we're in that part of the city again!!

Fourth business trip to NYC in 12 weeks and quickly becoming jaded with hotels that fail to deliver even basic customer service and don't come close to resembling their publicity photos. Crowne Plaza HY36 was a last minute booking made when I had to extend my latest stay by one night and I really wish I'd been staying here all along. Whole experience was made pleasurable by outstanding service, particularly from receptionist Elisha who IHG should use as a benchmark in their induction programmes for all front desk trainees. The hotel is relatively new and the rooms are comfortable and well equipped with power and USB sockets all over the place. I see some reviews saying they are small, but they're huge by NYC standards and typical of the size you'd expect to see in Europe; if you want to swing some cats, go round the corner to somewhere like the Homewood Suites, but personally I'd rather not have a large fridge buzzing through the night in my room. Location was great...I wanted to be near Penn Station but it would be equally good for anyone looking for a quieter alternative to Times Square which is only a few minutes walk away.
For me, the lottery associated with finding a decent and affordable hotel in NYC is over as I think I've found my base for future stays.

My sister and I stayed in this hotel for a week while visiting New York. The hotel is in a great location and the staff are so welcoming. The rooms are lovely and very modern, I seen people say the rooms are small and I was worried. However I found the rooms to be a good size and we were there for a week! At check in they picked us out the best room and put us on one of the two quiet zone floors. My favourite part of the hotel was the beds. They were so so comfy and lavender pillow spray is provided. The bathroom shower was great and the two mirrors had built in lighting which made doing makeup a breeze. The rooms also had a coffee machine which we enjoyed getting ready in the mornings. We had breakfast some mornings in the hotel and it was very nice, fast and easy. The staff were so friendly and made me feel really at home like nothing was too much to ask. I would stay here again when I am back.

I stayed the Crowne Plaza HY36 for 8 nights and would definitely stay there again on my next trip to New York. The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully designed, modern and extremely clean. They're also very functional and uncluttered which was great for unpacking and settling in for a slightly longer stay. Pictures online can sometimes be misleading and make hotels look nicer than they are, but that's not the case with this hotel at all. The customer service is excellent - Chris at the front desk couldn't have been nicer throughout my entire stay. Any issues I had (only very minor ones, like a lightbulb going out) were addressed immediately by friendly staff. The location is also extremely convenient for getting anywhere you could possibly want to go in the city. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We chose this hotel based on a friend's recommendation and glad we did. Staff was friendly and welcoming and our room was great! Space-wise, the room was typical for a NYC hotel, but the bathroom had a nice walk-in shower and good space for dressing without straddling the toilet like some others. Our room was fresh and clean, and the bed comfortable. The location was perfectly located near theaters, dining and shopping, but off the main drag so that noise wasn’t a problem. A nice, peaceful escape after a day in the busy city!

Checked into the hotel on a business trip and other than them adding a $34 charge for "services" everything seemed okay. I was out for work until around 11 PM when I returned to the room. As I got ready to turn in I noticed that the room was a bit chilly and went to turn up the thermostat. It was not on or broken. I went to set the alarm for the morning and found out the clock was not on or broken. when I turned down the bed there was a stain on the sheet. I decided to call the front desk and go through the hassle of changing rooms. Except the phone was also not working. Luckily I had two queen beds and the second one seemed fine. Certainly not what I expected from this hotel. Plus they charged me $34 for services which I never received. These included complimentary water, complimentary champagne on arrival, one day use of City Bike, access to high speed internet--all things I did not want or need. but good of them to decide I did need them and to charge me for them. This was on top of the room charge and taxes. I am on per diem and this plays havoc with work. I will not be returning and will also have work add them to a "not to use" list
